Centreline Patti Page Corrigan

I knew american singer Patti Page was a tough girl, but to play in the Scorpions Development centerline yesterday is just remarkable for an 84 year old woman!?

Fitzy was terrific and is steadily becomining co-ordinated. Very impressed by Sheahan and Tynan. Gys reads a pack very well and just needs a strong preseason without further injury to blossom next year.

Sheahan reminds me of the Wakelin brothers. Reads the play well and attacking off half back. As B&F of Geelong Falcons the commentators could not believe he was not picked in the ND.

There is a huge upside for this kid, the knock on him was his mental hardness. There was a doubt as to how he would step up in senior company but on the whole he has had a good first year at Casey and with some finals experience this year and a bit of time in the weights room pre season he could well be a player.

His loping running stye reminds me a bit of Lucas.

Yes, I remember that and quite liked it at the time.

But there's something wrong when you and DA can remember that sort of ancient stuff.

Don't start feeling too flattered, I just have an exceptional memory. I recently freaked a friend of a friend out by telling her I remembered her from when I'd been introduced to her once, for about 5 seconds, 11 years prior. If someone says something memorable, I'll remember it.

Don't know what DA's excuse is though. Maybe he just loves you. :)

Yes, it's funny what sticks in one's head. I remember you laughing when I beat up on a poster many years ago while you were having your lunch break. I think the posters name was "Donut", but I can't be sure.

Though as a mod I'm sure such infantile behaviour no longer pleases you. :)

Yes - he was "wetting himself about toughness" in your words and his username was "donut king". That was a bloody long time ago now, on the Aimoo site. Must've been late 2004, early 2005.

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
