There's been some semi-serious talk of losing this game in the match day thread, and getting closer to maybe snatching picks 2 and 3. I can't see us realistically getting our hands on pick 2. Even if we lose this one, we'll still be above GC on %, with a easier run home than them. Both of us have GWS, which should be wins, but they have % sapping away games against Hawks and Crows. Just can't see them catching us.

Actually .. hmmm .. they play GWS in round 20 and we do in round 21. So, theoretically, we could be going into round 21 against GWS knowing a loss would guarantee us 17th spot. That would be pick 2 and 3, and a lock on either Viney in the second round or an effective trade up to picks 1 and 2 (should GWS be stupid enough to nominate Viney).

What chance we risk tanking against GWS? ;)

There are many naive folk here -- clearly the AFL have already decided we are guilty as charged (by the Tankers recruit McLean) and we will be stripped of most of our picks, and possibly Viney too.

Sounds ominous ADC.

Just watched that On The Couch interview again. The four of them did everything but look down the barrel of the camera and say "We're coming after you Schwabby".

I and a lot of others I imagine will watching this game very, very closely on Sunday.

Sounds like they are hinting a statement may be made on the field. Perhaps wisely a reason young Cook wont debut. Of course if we win it will turn out to be meaningless hot air. But I am starting to hear a faint rattle from the bones of 186.

Why? Is Schwabby playing (or coaching)?

That bow of yours just seems to grow and grow.

I don't understand why this game is different from any other game this year as far as Scwabby is concerned

I think that's a question for ADC. He seems to have the inside running.

I can just about see Healy and Sheahan pi$$ing themselves while reading this thread. Muckraking of the highest order is what they were doing. Shaking the trees to see if they can get a coconut to fall, and it did courtesy of Brock. They have managed to build some meaning into an otherwise meaningless game by 2 teams that wouldn't win at VFL level. Cannot believed how people here get sucked in hooked line and sinker to what headline chasing hacks create, to think that sky is falling. If we win we are still crap if lose we are still crap, nothing to really gain or lose out of this weekends game - except for maybe another season ending injury to one of our better players. Neeld will still be coach, we will still take young Viney with our first or second round pick, the boys (that are left after the cull!!!!) will still endure the hardest gut wrenching preseason that they have ever done, our Olympic team will still suck as well for that matter - so much for the Olympics to be a way of watching some wins this year!

Sure as hell does

Winning is what we need in every games no matter what

Because winning develops culture. Constant losing destroys morale.

Watching Hawks vs Cats tonight and seeing 2 clubs desperate to win makes me want to stand up and scream support. But, alas, it's not my club playing...

This season has been so bad I actually wouldn't bat an eyelid if Gold Coast beat us, I've gone past the point this year where this team can make me feel any emotion.

I just want it to end so the next mediocre season can begin.
