Thanks Rogue.

'Indefinite' irks me more than the '4-6 weeks'. Taggert's injury is frustrating me more so than any other listed.

Can someone clarify the actual meaning of indefinite?

Does that mean that there is a good chance that the injury is for life?

How can they not be sure how far away it is?

By definition, it is "not definite".

They simply can't put a timeframe on it.

Probably because its a suck it and see thing dealing with backs..

Well, as Misson said in the injury update video, as can sometimes happen with a back injury like Taggert's on one side, you can over-compensate for the injury and overload the other side.

This is what he has done.

So basically there's a stress reaction that they were looking out for.

It has occurred and they're not sure how long it will take to rectify it.

Like Grimes, it will probably involved learning how to run again, but with a different gait and engaging different muscles.

Gysberts is the one I'd like to see playing at some level out of the non-test players.

Is Jack Viney out for the same 2-4 does anyone know?

Gysberts, Jurrah and even Jetta should all be holding their spots in the best 22 :(

I emailed the club asking why Jetta's injury was indefinite and why they were unable to put a return date. I got nothing back! Funnily enough, I wasn't surprised. I'm not sure what that means, if anything.

I bumped into Nev Senior at an amateurs game last Saturday (another son Rodney was playing). He told me Nev was on the improve and he expected him to be back at Casey in 3 - 4 weeks if all goes well.

It's been really tough on him because I really had a feeling that he might do well under Neeld's coaching if only he could get his body right.

I really hope Nev gets some games later in the season. I'm another who thinks that he and Neeld are a match made in heaven. I would think that Neeld would love the way he plays and he should thrive on Neelds gameplan. I just hope he can get on the park and show the coaches what he can do before they decide to cut him on general principles.

I've always liked the honest way Nev plays his game, unfashionable of late,,, but a solid work style & reads the ball well.

I think he'll go well in our contested ball style.

When he got this injury I thought that was the last we would see of Jetta

However we can only drop about 8 at the end of 2012 and there are a number who are playing who have put their hand up for delisting over the last two months.

Nev might get another year after all.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
