Reckon Jurrah probably wants to prove something perhaps. Let his footy do the talking, would be great for him. Petterd also due. Really need all 3 back at the dees and firing.

Watts for me. He has been ok to good at afl level, the drop in intensity and pace (ernesto in intensity enberg pace) should allow him to assert himself. Hopefully he has a blinder and realises what he is capable of at afl level. It is Jurrahs first run in a long time, I don't expect much from him, just enough to get a feel. He will play two games in the vfl I would've thought. Petterd did ok last week, I'd like him to surprise me.

(edit: fixed auto correct gibberish, now in brackets!)

Whichever one does well and gets promoted... They're gonna have a hell of a shock with our next 6 weeks.

Personally, I'm impressed with Jurrah actually playing. I was highly doubtful of LJ playing at either AFL or VFL level this year, but to his credit, he has pulled his head in, worked on his fitness, and has given himself every opportunity to compete at the highest level.

I hope LJ gets a further opportunity to put a pretty crappy few months behind him after the court case, allowing us, the MFC, and the greater AFL community, the opportunity to see what he does best.

Heard Neeld say just before that if Jurrah plays well at Casey he might get promoted the following week, or words to that effect.

Indeed - and that doesn't come as a surprise. Jurrah is class and clearly belongs in the side, but of course there are a plenty of variables that will lead to his selection.

I'm actually surprised at how few are picking Petterd. Surely if he stars as a defensive forward on the weekend, he'd be in with an excellent chance of being recalled? I'm sure he'd be aware of this. I mean, it's hardly a Dunn deal that this role is filled in the AFL team.

And bloody good on him if he does. I will put my hand up saying that I didn't think he would play a game of senior footy this year. The pending court case will be a massive outcome in Liam's career (as well as his life obviously). If he is to be found not guilty, the amount of support he will receive will be amazing, and I think he will feel that he owes the Club something, and as we've seen, just how special that something is could be quite remarkable.

I hope it's not the alternative.

Why all this, didn't expect him to play....., he was allegedly involved in an assault, which he vehemently denies, innocent until proven guilty the wrist injury did not heal properly which it now has he has been running miles at training, I know coz I have seen him do it...I expected him back a bit sooner...but this weekend will do

So many said he would never play again, well lets hope he does a Teddy and sticks it right up em. It would be great to see him back in our forward line, he brings so much joy to the game.

Went to a game with a Sydneysider last year and he was transfixed with Liam, just loved him.

Like you, I'm entitled to my own opinion.

Petterd, if he does ANYTHING RESEMBLING DECENT needs to come in. I'm so sick of the Porn Star.

The porn star does what Neeld asks, Ricky needs to do the same

Watts has been ok, Petterd is out of form and Jurrah keeps suggesting he 'isnt ready'. Viney did look good for a player of his age. Three more of him and we might have a half decent mid field...

If you asked me out of ALL our younger generation of players which one is the most likely to have an impact on return or to come on quickly to the next level Id probably say Gysberts, hopefully Blease and McDonald. Tappscott seems a likely possibility as well.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
