Mitch Clark

Good opportunity for me to recognise that Mitch has been a great acquisition by the club.

He is a very good player.

He is the only player on our list capable of being a strong tall forward (Jurrah, Watts etc are not that). Therefore he is CRITICAL to our structure.

He is one of the only players on our list that plays with the perfectly right amount of intensity and aggression required at this level

Jurrah will compliment Clark . Different styles. Don't think either has reached potential. Watts is longer term and will be worth the wait

He actually already had the bruise before he knocked himself out

Was about to post the same thing... I'm pretty sure that happened when he did a face plant which saw him going off the ground for a couple of minutes for a check up on his arm (I think it was).

Although.....

@MelbourneFooty

Clark will be monitored throughout the week, and while unlikely, may still play against the Saints on Saturday night at the MCG.

If you're inclined to believe twitter!!!

Didn't notice this at the ground but a friend watching on TV suggested that it was being taken very seriously by the medical staff on the boundary. So, I reiterate above..."Any word on that?" Or do we assume no news is good news?

As I mentioned in an earlier post in this thread, they took him off for a couple of minutes to check it out and then let him back on to continue playing, so it must be assumed that they weren't too concerned about it; and it certainly didn't stop him from trying to kill himself later in the game.

Yeah, just before the incident he was grimacing and looking at it.

He's been a really great pickup I think. I even think if something HAD gone horribly wrong, and he had to wait until next season for his next game, fans would probably be mostly positive on his recruitment. He's kicked 10 goals, and has been invilved in numerous telling plays. He may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he has absolutely no lack of talent, passion, anger, skill, courage, leadership... If you go on potential, he could quite conceivably be the next Neitz in the side. I've seen enough, and I daresay most would have.

Watching it on replay, I can't believe he's still with us, given his head went into his ribcage like a turtle.

Did anyone else basolutely LOVE his double tackle on the flank, that was eventually given as a free against? Bad luck, but wow the effort from a ruckman-sized player... If Watts doesn't look at that and think, I wanna be like Mitch, then he never will.

I was watching garrys footy classified last night and i could clearly see number 47 of the doggies give mitch a fair push in the back as he flew for the mark mitch had good timing on the fly till he got pushed which as we all saw, him landing on his head the so called review squad should have check it out because his actions were reckless as mitch could have ended up in hospital permanently

I suggest you look very closely at the footage above linked by Tricky... how you manage to see a "fair push" that deserves reviewing is way beyond me. He touched him, but he certainly did not push (you can even see him retracting his arms).

Thius is my highpoint of the season. We can build a forward line around him for the next 5 to 6 years. and a great coup by the club

Exactly. That is the sort of leadership players like Watts have lacked to look toward.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
