Serious question.

With the quality of the forthcoming draft, the obstacles involved with Father-Son drafting, and the compensation picks, we would be better off purposely losing just like we have previously (whether you acknowledge it or not).

Is that what's happening?

Has to be, surely...

Makes you wonder - across the board terrible performances and totally off the pace. There is something wrong - whether its exhaustion, or lack of training on basic skills.

If we are tanking, then accusations of a lack of "buy in" from the players are totally incorrect. If our aim is to lose and lose badly, our players are right on board.

with a new coach on a 3 year deal it is not possible...this club is in a very bad state...deadwood must be identified and removed.

Fark's sake. Really?

No, we are not tanking.

Fark's sake. Have a memory?

Couple of years ago we had to totally reverse our field positions in order to lose to Richmond by a goal after the siren... Arguably, our list is BETTER now.

Really think it's that ridiculous?

Indeed. But today it was right across the board - so it might be hard to see the genuine ordinary from the just playing ordinary.

Yes stu, it really is that ridiculous. Why would we deliberately humiliate the club by staging a 10 goal loss to bloody Richmond when there is nothing obvious at stake? Come on, think this through just a little bit.

Gee I dunno, because our list is crap and we are rebuilding AGAIN?

Yes...exactly...this club has very serious problems that only get worse as time rolls on.

Mclardy is going to have to be one hell of a President to fix this...and i rate Don as a fine man...i am not putting any boots in here.

But it is time to acknowledge that things within this organization are not being done correctly or at all.

The Tanking issue from 3 years ago still haunts me.

Methinks the Richmond players sung the song too vociferously....

Take it easy, boys. You didn't beat much.

We need to start 'experimenting' now.

This is the last rebuilding this Club has left.

No, we ain't tanking .. yet.

But, I tell you what, the fact that we might benefit substantially from a terrible ladder positon at the end of this season might just end up being the only thing that prevents me from weeping into my beer each and every week of season '12.

1. First round pick attached to ladder position in reportedly excellent draft

2. Compensation pick attached to ladder position in reportedly excellent draft

3. Small chance of picking up JV with our second round pick, if we finish low enough, making the pick mentioned above in point 1 extra valuable.

That booty would make Ghandi consider tanking.

We are the only club i know that takes so many positives out of losing.

PROBLEM ONE.

No mate, we're just crap. We shouldn't be tanking anyway. We clearly are no good at that either!

True. It's a booty Serena Williams would be proud of.

Yep, totally agree. My post was somewhat tongue in cheek; pointing out the obvious irony of the thread. Hope that came across. :)

No worries CC, but i do hope people within the walls of the club read all this.

The MFC culture at present, and tbh since J Northey left has been soft & wrong.

Didn't realise rebuilding a rubbish list and tanking are one and the same...

realistically if we need to cull so much dead wood this season we have to think of where the likely replacements will come from. We are not going anywhere with this mob, not a fat chance in hell. We have to suck it up as another lost year. We have no choice.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
