Can anyone please explain the logic of dropping Aaron (or any other player for that matter) for poor form, then not making them play for Casey?? Is he in fact being treated differently, or specially, or whatever you would like to call it, than any other player? We're any other "dropped" players taken to Perth and not told to play at Casey? Was he being "protected from the media", and if so for how long??

How can he regain form sitting in a plane?

I am a bit bewildered.

The decision was made to get him away from the Melbourne media.

I believe a rest away and across the other side of the country might prove more beneficial than playing au Casey.

SO long as there was some logic to it because I too am bewildered by Aaron's attitude since mid-last year. Doesn't want to be here. Looks lazy and uninterested.

RR as you have probably observed I have been a Davey critic for a long time.

Of recent it has occured to me that his attitude may be caused by frustration.

He has lost a little pace and that was probably his main attribute.

Couple that with teams working out that a close tag takes him out of games.

The result frustration and what may appear to be attitude problems.

Nett result his output is done to the point that he does not deserve a spot in the team.

Being as how he may be our highest paid player and has I think 2013 to run on his current contract it would appear the future is bleak for him and the MFC.

What do we do with him?

Clearly he deserves to be playing at Casey but can we afford a player on his salary running around at Casey till the end of 2013.

I would think he has limited trade value now but if we could off load him at the end of this year it would clear his salary from total and open a spot for a recruit.

Unfortunately that is the best result I can see for the MFC.

Reported by Ch 10 news in Perth after training at Claremont on Friday. Assuming they had spoken to someone at MFC or possibly just made it up.

The fitness staff kept Davey out on the field for an extra 30 mins or so after the main group had gone in to the rooms.

Agree RR, I just do not think it will happen.

I think it was keep him away from the media at all costs last weekend.

Could you imagine what would have happened if he had fronted up at Casey on Sunday.

I also think the MFC are making every effort to get him back to the form of 2010.

If it does not work by August they will be able to say "what more could we have done"

He was never great.

I could not disagree more with your assessment of Davey's body language.

I think he displays all traits of someone who has no confidence and is frustrated.He looks terrible on the ground and certainly not arrogant. The game has caught up to him and he struggles with it.

Misreported (I believe) in the Sunday Herald Sun as Davey "comforting" Neeld. Rather, Davey was doing what players close to their coach do. He put his arm around him during the coach's address so as to get in physically close and allow players behind to also get closer. If there was any bad feeling between Neeld and Davey there is not a chance that Davey would have put his arm around Neeld like he did. On that basis alone I'd have Davey playing next week - and unlike others on this forum, I didn't think Davey played too badly on Saturday. Or, rather, there were plenty worse. I'd still like to see Davey used in the midfield for a couple of minutes each quarter to add pace and skill to an otherwise one-paced, slow bunch of sloggers.

He had 10 touches on the weekend and does not have special pace anymore, his awareness is poor.

The sad reality for Aaron is hes gone from the Hunter, to the Hunted !!.

No one can be in our side purely on the speculation that some idea of a half baked/decent cameo might come to something.

Ive really liked Davey over most of the journey though last year was something to forget.

Right at the moment I do not think there are too many to replace him with at Casey.

He will play quite a bit this year IMO for two reasons

- Who else is there that is not injured

- he has 41 games on his contract to run

Hope to god he does come good he will be a very expensive Casey player otherwise

I think Sunday was an improved effort and performance from him on recent form, but was still pretty ordinary. I noted Mark Neeld in his post match presser said he was happy how Aaron was working into the season or something like that.

He will play, but I, like you, want to see a lot more.

I have but wanted to keep the comments to myself as I don't want to come across as too much of a sniper.

But isn't it a sad state of affairs when we commend a player for actually turning up to play for once. And by turning up to play I mean actually doing something during a game. I noticed his half hearted attempts at contested marks, his half hearted attempts at one handed tackles and his unwillingness to get his own ball was still prevelant. If he was at another club we would be laughing at his efforts. He is only in the team because there are no other options. If Wonna was still around Davey wouldn't be. I feel this could be his last season in the seniors.
