Don't want to nitpick and it probably won't matter if we lose, but I like to tape the Foxtel replay of the game as it uses less space on the storage guide. Live is much more than the replay without breaks. I noticed we are only on replay once the whole week at 2.30 AM sunday morning and as well another program is listed at the same time.I can see the recording failing. Other teams like Blues and Dogs etc are replayed 5-6 times that I can see. Why is that?

If we win, that will be disappointing.

If we lose, that will be appropriate.

I would think that it is appropriate.

TV works on ratin,g that is who will watch.

Neither us or the Lions have big followings.

I would not be surprised if the 4th replay of Carlton and Richmond rates better than the first replay of the Dees.

We simply do not have the followers to watch.

If we win 7 out of the first 10 it might be different.

That can't be the case. Sydney v GWS is on many times as is GC v Crows.

Sydney vs the crows does not count there was nothing else to show.

And the crows probably have more members / supporters than the Dees and Brisbane.

AS well as that the SA supporters are nuts they probably watch the game mutiply time as they think the result might change.

After watching this match, it's easy to have the opinion that our players have not been developed in a manner that should have had us well and truly entrenched in the top 6 teams by now.

Our team is 80% senior players in this match. Experienced players are so much more important that we knew.

Amazing how the game changes so quickly nowadays. Flicked over by luck didnt realise the game was on.

A completely different looking Melbourne side that day. For starters, a crowd shot cut to our President and CEO.

Messrs Gardiner and MacNamee respectively.

Playing that day that are now departed were (I think):

Robbo, Wonna, Miller up forward

McLean, Bruce, Junior, White onball

Carroll, Bell, Warnock down back, Probably others i missed too.

A great game to relive!

Wheatley out there too................great to see that game again.

How well did Bate play in the second half.

Robbo and Wonna were awesome in that game, and you McLean was a ball magnet.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
