I am an MCC/MFC member. I haven't renewed MFC but will soon. I rang them to see if I could swap the 6th scarf in a row for a cap which would be of some value to me. Many other clubs do caps instead of scarfs. I mean how many scarfs do you need. I live in Sydney and a cap can be used all year round. They said no but if I "donated" the scarf and the rest of the membership pack to the club I would get a $25 gift voucher which I can use if I spend over $50 at the demons shop. It really annoyed me and put me off renewing at the time. I still will before the season but the attitude sucks. I live in Sydney and the MFC full membership is a donation I make every year to support the club without getting any benefit. What does it cost them to swap the scarf for a cap.

Now "It'sTime" time to have a coffee and reflect on life.

Surely you are more loyal than than the value of a scarf.

I am sure you have had far greater disappointments than that following the DEES.

Put your disappointment in a letter and post it to them.

Then when you have finished sign up again.

The MFC needs you.

I dislike intensely the Maroon colour in the 2011 scarf and from what I have seen of the 2012 version.

I just don't wear them, 2010 version will again be wrapped around my neck in 2012

You love the Dees sign up now and enjoy the ride in 2012

Would you rather I not make snide remarks about the importance of NAB Cup form to membership levels?

By all means speak and be heard.

Still waiting for the massive bump after that oh-so-important, well televised, and well reported ("What happened? Watts was shite, right?") win over Collingwood...

I have a feeling You are going to follow me to the grave on this one rpfc !

Just wait till we beat the hawks on Saturday it will be 40 000 by next Tuesday.

Only joking mate!

I think we will have trouble beating the 2011 level.

Just do not think there are 40 000 people out there at present who want to be members no matter how well we go this year.

Perhaps after a couple of years of sustained good results we might get some new followers.

Yes my hallway is full of scarves i have never used! Annoying, but i can't chuck 'em! My scarf is about 20 ft long that i bought from the MFC caravan outside the members entrance in '87. A beauty.

I am fairly confident you have got that message over before today.

I will be very very surprised if we get 40 000 in 2012.

We have been ordinary or worse for a long time.

That does not go away quickly

As I said at the beginning, I will be renewing. Have been since 1973 but still doesn't mean a bit of logic should be applied by the Club.

My God wyl you are almost as tragic as me.

I have them all as well except the 2011 version I sent it back I was so annoyed at the colour.

At least once a month my wife says "why are you keeping all these?

do you think if you throw them away it will cause a bad season?"

Not sure how to answer that one

As I said at the beginning, I will be renewing. Have been since 1973 but still doesn't mean a bit of logic should be applied by the Club.

The logic is that the club makes money out of selling merchandise. If they give away a scarf each year supporter will have to pay for things like caps, and it will provide additional revenue to the club. Smart move by the club. I'm an interstate member with a draw full of scarves. I have paid for a jumper, a cap and a polo over the years.

I hope it is not the one from year 1 Bossdog it will be looking a bit mouth eaten by now.

As well it would be the old light blue and red.

Believe it or not I prefer that one to the maroon one of last year or the pink jumpers of recent times

Anyone else not received a membership renewal this year? Poor form from the club. It's March and I am still waiting for the renewal pack to arrive.....

It would explain why membership is below last year but I can't believe the club has been so slack.

I took the initiative and renewed myself last October.

2011 was Gettysburg without the Address.

Hardly inspiring...

Yes but 2012 is another year. Based on today's training, we will play wel against the Hawks. And if this happens, it will surely boost membership.

GO DEES.

They are all on the way to the bin DC as soon as I finish here.

Well except the 2010 version I need one for this year and the pictures of the new one do not fill me with glee.

Mrs OD will be wrapped.

However if we have a another 2011 year I am coming to get you DC

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
