But the thing is Ward hasn't made up his mind when the news broke out about gws offer and has been playing fantastic footy for bulldogs, maybe Rodney Eade been sacked and Bulldogs missing Finals mght have motivated his decision to leave.

I have to say right now even though we had a bad season we are ahead of bulldogs right now, and they are going to be in rebuilding phase starting next year so that might be the main reason ward decide to take the cash and run.

good on him. its really not a tough decision and the same goes for scully. people will bag him for being disloyal and so on. yesterday i accepted a job that pays me almost double what i have been earning. it makes life a whole lot easier and buying fast toys a whole lot easier ;) congratulations to them

Yes, where there is smoke there is fire.

Walker and Carlisle will be leaving for GWS soon too...(Rolling Eye emoticon)

Mock all you like..the more some names are eliminated, the more likely others become. .

And strangely..smoke does indeed often come from fire.(laughs and those with head in sand emoticon)

Head in the sand.

Really, BB?

You want to tie yourself to ADC on this one?

Scully may leave - no head in the sand there.

I just believe the kid on the fact he hasn't signed already.

We will see in few weeks...

So, RPFC, as you and I are in the minority that actually believe Scully's word, and are accused of having our head in the sand, do we really think the footy club would go through a season keeping their head in the sand too? I'm of the understanding that the Club believe that Scully will sign. We could be in a lot of trouble if our Admin & FD bury their heads over issues like this...

The journo might turn out to be correct, but there is nothing in The Age story which is watertight confirmation that Ward will leave. It is more prediction masquerading as "in the know" because "sources" have said it's true. Until Ward, his Manager, the Bulldogs or GWS actually announce that it's happening, everything else is merely prognostication - which sort of rhymes with another word meaning the journo has got his hand on it.

For what it's worth, I think he will go to GWS - but I'm not claiming that I have any inside information or "sources" telling me anything.

Hard to describe how dumbfounding this post is ...

Oh come on Old..your not illiterate. You choose to think its all nicey nicey and no-ones going anywhere. That simply flies in the face of the construct the AFL have built and the fuel it provides to happen. It was never possible for all the 'names' to go but the closer we get to the pointy end of the season the more focused it becomes on who is.

Bang on. It's not about rejecting the notion that he may leave, it's rejecting the notion that he has already left and therefore everything he's said is a lie.

Guest Gareth Keenan

I could make similar comments about being ignorant however I won't.

He's known all year what's on the table. Do you seriously think he hasn't thought about where he will play next year thoroughly? It would have been impossible not to contemplate.

Knowing what his options are does not mean he has made a decision.

He may have thought about it, he may have contemplated it, and my be leaning one way or another, but do seriously not understand that his decision might not yet be made?

Why are you incapable of this sort of logical thinking..?

It's narrow-minded to assume he is lying based on the fact that you wish he'd made his mind up by now.

I thought that I had read that both of these had signed with their current clubs..

Right so your reasoning goes something like this ...

- the media says there's 5 players Scully, Carlisle, Ward, Russell, Walker gone to GWS

- as it turns out some of them definitely aren't gone to GWS e.g. Carlisle, Walker, in fact they've re-signed with their clubs

- therefore the ones that are left on the list are even more certain to be going to GWS

yeah right, that's hangonesque!

or he may have made up his mind ages ago. Even your logic will have to concede that as an option. In so much as you purport he hasnt made a decision, the opposite must surely be true also.

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form
