Fevola

No thanks. I'd expect similar results to Cousins at Richmond - some buzz, a media circus, a handful of decent games and he's off two years later with us in no better place than he was when it started.

Find me midfielders who can get the ball to our forwards, not a forward who will be standing down there wondering why none of the midfielders can get it to him.

Don't give a rats what he did five years ago unless you can get him as he was then.

I'd like to think there's no chance, but maybe the club is in the same desperation mode as the fans.

I wasn't even suggesting Fevola should be picked up, just the comment implying we should be protective towards players instead of treating them more like men. We've done that (to the younger players) for four years and they have turned out too soft. I'm saying we should adopt a tougher shape up type of attitude. And we should stop talking to players as though some magic premiership window is going to automatically open for them. You'd think that all the players have to do is turn up, go through the motions, get games under their belt and before you know it they'll be playing in a grand final. Too much fantasy been going on and not enough tough love reality. And too many supporters are just as bad.

Sorry about the tangent but that's where I'm coming from

Now your talkin' DC. People, most grow after a big long standing trauma & do mature.. All 'Stallions', Need a strong reign held by a trusting, Yet strong Rider. And the other Team of Horses have to help keep the Stallion in order.

See: Carey @ north under Pagan. See: Lockett @ Sydney. See: Hall @ the dogs. All OK when under strong leadership! See: Brereton @ the Hawks under Allan Jeans.

Q/ If you can't handle the Stallion & want to look the other way, what are you gonna do when he's playing against you? Ans: Have strong leadership, and put the stallion to work, for You!

Looking the other way doesn't make the problem,,, or the timidity Go... Grab the problem and harness it's energy.

Pfffft.

No chance it would happen, and for good reason.

But if the club saw fit to waste money on the Fevola circus, then they won't be getting my membership money next year.

I mean, how can people possibly entertain it as an option?

I'll be [censored] off if he's even still at Casey next year!

Brilliant all we need is strong leadership...Eureka....Green, Davey, Moloney....Oh wait.

I sure Carlton and Brisbane certainly got rid of the energy. Must have been spooked by the carbon tax.

In terms of leadership I'm unsure that there is a backwards from where we currently are.

Proven leaders would be nice, but they come at a cost. They rarely move clubs at all, and when they do, they require heaven and earth to be moved in the process. The next best option is to fast track the babies we have in to leaders. The only other option - and the worst option - is to maintain the status quo and have the same mob lead us next year.

Edit: Not that I'd consider Fevola leadership...

To me a leader is someone whom can show the way.Yes, we all know that Fevola has baggage off field but as stated, since he has played at Casey- no sign of trouble off field- the only trouble on field was his scuffle at Werribee where he went in to protect our young Casey players and was deemed to have caused trouble. At times , he has not shown interest but NOW.. when he has got confidence he is is kicking GOALS.. and that is what we want to Demonland..Goals.. and someone that we can rely on.. we can't rely on Jurrah, Green or any other forward for a reliable outcome. He is a great leader to show how our midfielders where to kick to the forwards, he can assist the forwards to fast track. He can bring others into the game - similar to how he had a reat relationship with Eddie Betts whom has kicked I think 14 goals in the last 3 matches..or so- What price would Carlton be right now if they hadFevola at full forward and he was in the same form as in 2008 where he kicked 99 goals and then followed up to Win the Coleman with 86 goals.. How many will the winner kick in 2011..currently the leader with 3 rounds to go is Buddy with 62 goals.. how much would I love to see Fevola winning the Coleman next year with 80 goals or assisting Jurrah to win it ..as Rude Boy says he would have this year.Furthermore, we all have made many mistakes.Howard Hughes went bankrupt twice - making the same mistake. I lost millions in the last major down turn 3 years ago- made the same mistakes last week in the stock lose and back in 1986 made the same mistakes then or similar. But fortunately still got the business and still got enough to live with.. therefore so give Fev a go-- we all make mistakes and give a a fair go to all- That is my Motto-maybe Nasher that is the problem with you and your state- you never have a go or you can't pull up your socks to have a go...that it what leadership is all about. Lead is to direct, show how they have learnt..And lastly, read what the famous guru on leadership say's about leadership--Leadership Definition : Peter Drucker : The forward to the Drucker Foundation's "The Leader of the Future" sums up leadership : "The only definition of a leader is someone who has followers." To gain followers requires influence (see John Maxwell's definition below) but doesn't exclude the lack of integrity in achieving this. Indeed, it can be argued that several of the world's greatest leaders have lacked integrity and have adopted values that would not be shared by many people today. Now you may have learnt something yourself and I normally charge a fortune for my advise..and now you may have a better understanding of why I have an opinion on Fevola being a possible asset to us.

These thing are great, but don’t forget:

• Theft of jackets from a drycleaners in North Melbourne; he was fined $8000

- HARDLY WORTH TALKING ABOUT

• Involved in an incident at Crown Casino no charges were laid, but he was suspended by Carlton for a week.

- NO CHARGES WERE LAID

• Assaulted a barman during a tour of Ireland in 2006 with the Australian International Rules team, and was sent back to Australia

- A HEADLOCK IS HARDLY ASSUALT

• Fined $10,000 and traded after behaving inappropriately at the 2009 Brownlow Medal count.

- A LITTLE BOOZY - THE FOOTY SHOWS FAULT AND A LITTLE OF HIS OWN

• Proceedings started to sue Fevola for breach of privacy, defamation and misuse of an image for the release of a nude photo.

- NO CHARGES

• Formal police investigation into claims that Fevola had flashed a woman at a Brisbane park during a football clinic.

-NO CHARGES

• Arrested in Brisbane on charges of public nuisance and obstructing police

- NO CHARGES

• 65 days in rehabilitation for gambling addiction.

- SENT HIMSELF TO REHAB

Yes hes made some pretty poor decisions but he has been hung out to dry like a drug lord, thug or crim. He is none of these.

give him a go. If we dont some other club will. And watch him flourish...................................maybe haha

It worked for Sydney for a long time and they developed other goal kicking options that worked just fine. We need a big bloke now who cannot be ignored by an opposition, for a long time we had Neita and Mr Gorilla was never left alone and I seem to remember our small forwards prospering from having him about.

I cannot stand the man myself and think he is a boor but if he passed a pre season yes for the help it will give our who are developing but not there yet. BTW i don't see us a rock bottom but it will be 2014 before we are genuine flag material.

MY BIG FAT GREEK FULL FORWARD (who will not chase or stay sober)

Did you enjoy watching A. Jakovich. Sure is was erratic, undisciplined and a freak, but so are most of the great full forwards. At the end of the day, it adds excitement to our team, especially if he can kick a bag.

I think people are so politically correct these days, that they blind themselves to champion players.

Don't worry too much, he will be picked up rather quickly I think.

So if there is no "charges" laid then all these incidents are okay are they? I'm not totally against getting the Fev, especially if he really has turned it around, but you can't just palm off his past indiscretions like they are all nothing. They were bad enough to get him sacked from 2 separate clubs. As I said earlier could be a great story, but I'm pretty wary.

Maybe Fev's dad has been reading Demonland today:

We missed out on Darling because of his off field discretions leading up to the season and look how he's turned out...

That is not correct- we didn't miss out- we just didn't recruit him..but I feel there is a hell of alot of difference at this stage b/w Fev & Darling. One has made the big time at an elite level- the other(Darling) has a very long way to get there. And by the way, we recruited Cook whom currently is lucky getting a game at Casey 2nd's.

Same thing? My point was that at times you need to look at the off field discretions, see how they have been handled, and weigh it up between how the player plays footy. Fev's made mistakes, he's admitted this, he's been to rehab, he's getting counselling and he's been out of trouble this year. People change, not always, but people can change with the right environment and I strongly believe with people like Jimmy and possibly Mick at the club WE can provide this environment. We're recruiting a footy player FFS!!! not Johnny Rolemodel.

You're point about Cook is exactly why we SHOULD be getting Fev in the team for the next two seasons.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
