Think of how awsome an experience it would be for all our young players. They will have the oportunity to get beaten by over 100 points in a final.

To get a taste of finals for the young fellas would be great, however it won't be this year. The best we can hope for is to have equal points with Sydney but our percentage will kill us. Just the mention of finals this year is a massive change up from where we have been for the last few years! Bring on a strong preseason with the right coach and smash up 2012!

Go Dees!

I love the ol'd mathematical probability and I'll keep my hopes up until it's no longer possible - why? cause I love the MFC and would love them to sneak in.

However, what I really am looking forward to is the change in attitude of everyone on here when we play 3 teams that aren't in the top 4. I cant wait to see Frawley dispose of Reivolt and us smash GCFC and break the AAMI hoodoo. That will be enough for me to finish the season. 10 and a half wins and a full pre-season....

bring on 2012!

All well and good but the game is being played at Adelaide Oval not AAMI

Better to come ninth? Why? The supporters have the same amount of killer instinct as the players currently. Grow some stones .. Make the 8, face a good team and expose these guys to where they need to get to. Sure they lose, but they need to play finals FFS.

Take a leaf out of essendon, Carlton and collingwoods book (the historically successful clubs) and demand success.

This is such a Melbourne football club supporters attitude.

Sick of it.

Mate, let's give it a crack.

Back ourselves in and smash the Tigers. I would love to beat the blues in our first home final at the mcg.

Fb - blease. Garland. Rivers

Hb. green. Frawley. Sylvia

C. Davey. Moloney. Scully

Hf. Trengove. Watts. Jurrah

Ff. Martin. Howe. Petterd

Fol. Jamar. Jones. Mckenzie

Int. Nicholson, jetta, McDonald, gysberts

Apart from confidence, if coached properley, why can't we make the finals and beat the dirty blues.

I don't care if we play Port on the moon, if we don't beat them in Round 24 it would be one of the most epically disastrous results we've had in 4+ seasons.

I will literally dig my own hole and bury myself in it.

Of course whether we win or lose we still won't make finals, and thank god for that. I don't want us to get smashed first up, it's better just to miss out than to make up numbers if the only experience you'll gain is one of getting your arse kicked mercilessly.

Pissweak attitude

So you want us to scrape into the finals, not on merit, but on the back of other teams failing, so we can front up to Carlton or West Coast first up and get demolished by 100+ points?

Epic achievement that one.

Jaded, youre wasting your breath. Some seem to think that any game in the finals is character building. Not all realise character is a multidirectional result.

But youre right ...we wont make it anyway so much of al lthis is moot.

I totally agree in regard to our inconsistency blah blah blah, but if you win enough games you "deserve" to get in. Every extra game especially a final can only help Watts, Trengove, Scully etc in the future.

I just can't believe people don't want to make finals under any circumstances, it's got to be in good form...or with momentum...sunshine will not be blown up their backsides if they lose in the finals. Have you thought how it may ignite something even deeper in their motivation.

Do you think Richmonds Chris Newman ever wished to come ninth all those times? It's not a given that we naturally improve as every other club does also.

Take it when you can.

+1

Putting whether we deserve it or not aside, if we win big the next three games (Tigers, GC and Port), and Sydney get thrashed by the Saints and Cats, even if they beat Brisbane we could sneak in on percentage.

Say we were coming off three huge 80+ point wins going into the finals, confidence is high.......

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
