Changes for next week

In: Anyone who's prepared to play for the club

Out: Anyone who isn't prepared to play for the club

Good way to sum it up?

Anyway, there's a lot of names, and there'll be a lot of changes.

Green, Strauss

When was the last time a captain got dropped?

If it's going to happen, it'll happen this week.

Based on the Casey game that i was at,

ins: Bartram, McDonald, Gawn (or Tom McDonald), Scully, Davey

outs: Strauss, Maric, Dunn, Gysberts, Nicholson

Thats not to say Bartram and Davey were deserving of promotion on todays game,

but change for changes sake is needed

When was the last time a captain got dropped?

When was the last time a captain led his team to a 186 point defeat, with 1 handball in the first half, topped off by yelling at a kid and smirking through his press conference.

[censored] off, I don't care if it's never been done before, it has to start now.

I already said it at half time, but if Bailey and Green are both at the G next week, I won't be. And that will be the first time in 13 years that I am going to deliberately miss a game of footy in Melbourne.

Nicholson doesn't deserve to get dropped - well, not before 10 or so others. At least he tries - even if it doesn't always work.

As for Green, captaincy mightn't suit him, and he mightn't be much of a galvanising leader, but he's still an AA player.

4 (unforced) changes would be the max I would imagine, so for me, Gysberts (tired), Strauss (need more experience) Jamar (needs to refind his form after the long layoff) and Maric (too often found wanting).

If we wanted a "symbolic" scalp, I'd drop Sylvia.

In Gawn, Joel Mac or Bartram, Scully, Davey, maybe Tom Mac. Bummer that Jetta and Evans are injured, at least they're both triers.

Hard though, you go through the team list and with the exception of a handful, there's ample justification for dropping most of them. Can't really get any worse people.

I'm generally supportive of most things about the club, but it is patently clear to me that Brad Green is unfit to captain a football club.

He may have all the best intentions in the world, but in the end he is just not up to it.

Our dearth of real senior leadership is terminal.

I want to drop half the side, but who comes in? Casey got beaten by 120.

Just thinking: names I want to see include Tom McDonald, Tom McNamara, Sam Blease (why was he dropped in the first place?) and Lucas Cook. Just play them FFS.

Especially the two TMacs. The original TMac has done OK at Casey in the middle. Why not give him a run? He can't be worse than Maric. Or Gybserts. Or Dunn. Or the other 19 players.

Because Tom McNamara was dreadful for Casey today, barely had a dozen posessions, his man constantly ran off him...

I knew this would be a problem...

Surely we set a record today for biggest combined losing margin for an AFL side and its VFL affiliate. 300-odd points.

Are clubs allowed to sack their whole list and employ players from all the other VFL clubs between matches? That's about the only way for the "outs" to really be fair and balanced.

In all seriousness though, Green, Russian, Maric, Jurrah and Garland need to go for a trip. And I never thought I would mention Jurrahs name in regards to an out. Joel Macdonald should be in, at least he has some mongrel. Then I'd say Cook, Scully, Davey and Gawn. Changes have to be made, and they need to cut deep.

I'd rather see them play some of the new kids to see if they have any ability at this level. I don't expect that we will win and i don't expect big things of them just a 4 quarter effort and some pride in their performance.

Let's see if they have what it takes;the Gold Coast are trying their kids out and even though they have copped a few floggings, they have at least had a look at what they have. And yes I know they have Gabblett but that's not the issue we are done for the year and we might as well see what's in the cupboard.

Tom McNamara played a horrible game last time I saw him in the ones but who knows in the midfield he might add a bit of strength.

Why Moloney escaping the wrath? Unbelievably selfish to play when unwell. Disgrace we had to active out sub for someone with the flu. That was the biggest joke on what was one joke of a day for (I'm sorry) a joke of a club at the moment. Head should roll, whether they do or not...

In: don't care

Out: (at a minimum) green, moloney for showing no leadership when it was required more than at any other time in the last 40 odd years.

Writing was on the wall on Thursday night.. After we got smacked by the Hawks we drop ONE player and that was the bloke that spent 20mins on the ground. It's a joke the players have never been sent a message to say that it's unacceptable for our loses this year. Big names need to roll and we need to play blokes that wanna change the clubs trend because I'm sick of being labeled a club with no heart or spine

The most bizarre aspect of this shambles of a season it has been is that we still have a chance for the finals. Mathematical it may be but it is real. Will it be enough to make the players wake up? There is a final chance for redemption for those who have let the club down. The only big change I can see for now is the coach

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
