Brad Green on The Couch

This thread is BS.

Green isn't a media performer and doesn't choose his word well when under pressure.

People here are putting far more thought into Brad's words than Brad did.

Get your hands off it.

It's laughable that this James McDonald issue is considered to be an issue by some at the club.

To anyone who still considers it to be ... go to Bunnings, buy some wood, build a bridge ... and get over it.

I think you will find that the club is over it and that Sheahan was trying to open an old wound, but with little success; although I'm sure he will still find something to write about it insisting there is still some residual ill will in the club.

Honestly if people really think there is confliction within the football department they really have rocks in their heads. Since 2007 everyone from media journalists and supporters have commended the Melbourne Football Club for getting back on track. To suggest that there is a battle of ego's right now is simply ridiculous and to put in plainly is offensive to all the great work Stynes and Schwab have achieved.

Yes the James McDonald sacking could have been handled differently, no doubt the Scully saga is internally getting on people's nerves and clearly Bailey is no sure thing to continue on past this year but FFS have some faith in the club, we've simply come too far to let inflammatory articles by the media destabilise us.

I'd say it's the media building a bigger set of "reasons" behind TS leaving (should he go) than simply being offered too much money to refuse...

I think the most relevant thing out of the whole interview was right near the end when Brad said something along the lines of the fact that the media are too impatient in terms of our development. Brad mentioned earlier that Hawthorn's bigger bodies were the main difference on Sunday, they were able to run straight at us, and easily break tackles. He also indicated that they are a better team than us and have players like Lewis, Hodge, Mitchell, etc that are far superior to our 2 or 3 top-line players.

If I'm going to read between the lines, I'm going to say that some of the internal bickerings is a result of the FD looking at the future, and having the patience that the media, and a majority of our supporters, don't have. And because of the inconsistent results that this will bring, a select few from the playing group aren't happy with the roller-coaster ride and would prefer to have instant but not the ultimate success, rather than be happy to accept the Club's premiership model, knowing too damn well that when that window opens, a few of them wont be either around or their spots will be taken by someone younger/better. It could be said that a select few of the Admin/FD want this instant success too, and are struggling to agree with the direction that the Club is heading. Who knows, CC is out there hearing "us" saying we want more wins, etc, and it's probably got to the stage where he wants them too, just to shut us up! But if he can see this year, and possibly next year is going to create more off-field rants from supporters, maybe he is questioning what we are doing?

One last thing, for those wanting Green to do a course in media interviews, let's remember his title is Captain, not Public Relations Manager. The only talking I want to hear from Green is on-field. I couldn't give a rats if none of our players did any interviews whatsoever. We get the standard lines, just like every club, so what difference does it make? As soon as you hear a bit of reality, ie a couple from our Club indicating that Hawthorn are a far better team than us so it's no wonder that we got flogged, we all jump up and down.

We can't all have a great education, but did anyone teach you to use paragraphs at school ? It would help those endeavouring to decipher your monotonous offerings.

I hope this helps.

I would suggest that if poor grammar offends/disturbs you, then perhaps internet forums are not the place for you?

Ha !

Pig, you could contribute to your thread on H's Summer Education Programme if you feel the urge. It's far removed from Green on the Couch.

Stick to topic please.

Green was fine, in fact he was more open than I expected. I don't think he's a great captain and I'd replace him at year's end, but I had no problem with his interview.

The only thing of note that came out of the show was that there is a degree of disenchantment from some within the playing group and I suspect Schwab and Connolly. I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing as long as the playing group are united in their goals. And I sense that this is the case.

Thank you. I plan on discussing the lunatic Greens and the diabolical carbon dioxide tax in coming days.

Should be a gas.

Thanks for the tip, Hannabal.

I will keep it in mind, I truly will.

You must like your pseudonyms as much as the person your viciously berated a couple of months ago.

There's one big difference, I don't use them concurrently and I don't use them in unison to make an argument seem stronger. This subtelty may escape you.

Oh, and no worries.

You love your semantical escapes don't you?

You could just realise you're a hypocrite and move on.

The use of aliases should be monitored. It seems too easy to create a different moniker and agree with yourself.

If a new one is created I think the old one should be at least terminated and the switcheroo declared.

Why else is it done, other than to try to cover up past posts/opinion?

I know some mods tire of the "mod attitude" they can get from the members of Land from time to time, and like to be apart of gen pop...

That's the only half-serious reason I have seen.

lol not surprised. This club has no idea. It's what 40+ years of losing culture brings with it.

Hi, I'm rpfc, an arrogant know-it-all, and you are?

I'm merely your reflection in a mirror. All be it one who does not have as good a command of the English language.

Yet, your own reflection sometimes see things from the same focal point, sometimes it doesn't ... sometimes it wants to consider both sides of the mirror. Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side of the mirror. B)

The football club has moved on .... but have the "supporters" & the "barrackers'"?

No they just prefer robust debate. But where have we heard that before? B)

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
