Did you see Tarrant monster the smaller Brad Green last week??

We need our key position players to have key position size if we are to compete at the top of the ladder. Col is a midfielder/flanker and a good one at that.

Spot on. Although, i would still see Col pushing forward to create another option on occasions when it fits into the team plan/structure/match ups etc. Can play tall, and throws another dimension into our forward options, creating another headache for the opposition to try and cover with a tallish/quality defender rather than just a 'run with' option if he didn't push forward at all. Not to mention the scoreboard pressure :)

Rather see Gawn, Martin, Rush & Watts through here most of the time

Ted whitten.

And dont tell me the game has changed. I wont buy it.

If they had video and a MRP in Whitten's day, he would be lucky to play more than a handful of games each year!!!

Yes, the game has changed.

I would add Howe to that list as well.

Coll plays his best up forward as a "surprise arrival" that is when he suddenly appears from a flank; I wouldn't set him as a KPP, assuming that in some way set positions exist in today's game.

i think you mean, sylvia resting in the forward line and playing through the midfield? why would you want to remove nearly our best midfielder from the midfield? i want the ball in his hands as much as possible, and that involves him playing in the guts. But no doubt he can rest up forwards, and that you state the game hasnt changed, ridiculous!

In reference to Tarrant "monstering" green, on most occasions it happened because of the crap delivery to him, where he was 2 metres in front and the ball was put on his head, leading him to stop and then Tarrant came in.

You can still have smaller, lead up players providing the job as a CHF. Especially considering most players play as a generic forward, not in positions like they used to.

We have no real big targets, just a lot of smaller lead up attacking players.

It's irrelevant. We play a mobile forward structure. He gets his turn, but to think Sylvia would play the whole game there just dosen't work any more. The best key forwards tend to go both high up the ground and deep into the square.

Its about match ups and throughing the other team off balance.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
