So it is common knowledge we are going to take him, he already has a contract with us, by all reports he is ready for AFL now.. why the hell do we have to wait for next season to be over before he gets a game?

I mean he's on the payroll already.. what's with these stupid rules?

Interestingly in an article by Sam Landsberger in todays Sun, the last paragraph stated "Viney is not eligible to be drafted until next year, but has committed to a three year deal with the Dees under the father son rule from 2013.

Which perhaps could be correlated with the five year deal mentioned in the Age as being for this year and next in development and then three years on our main list.

Yeah, that's what we assumed.

I would say the two 'lead-up' years would involve us paying for sessions with bio-mechanic experts (money we wasted on he-who-cannot-be-named) and physio work etc.

Really looking forward to Rd 1, 2013.

They changed the rules for the year after Jack Watts was drafted to say that players had to be older. Think they have to turn 18 the year they are drafted now (previously was only 17 I believe)

They pushed the draft age forward by 4 months, which allowed a bigger pool for GC last year.

Yes we were and no you shouldn't.

I am, however, waiting for all those like RR who seem to have a policy of not recruiting ready made players who will be as good as they will ever be in their first year and preferring to recruit players that have a minimum of 4 years before they produce what other kids do in their first game, to provide some comment.

Although i am very much in the RR corner when it comes to recruiting RF, in that i want the best player regardless of how they are now blah blah,

i do really like how much you play people with the ready made lines, seems to always catch someone, wish i had this type of bait when i went fishing this arvo

If you have an opinion that differs from the clique on here you get hammered, so I like to return the ball over the net at times. Jack Viney is a classic example of a player that some on here would say we don't need because he's as good as he will ever be, and if he wasn't already ours they would be calling him another Darling, Rich or Palmer.

I'm over the moon, he's ours and I reckon he will be a beauty.

Enjoy your fishing? Jordie Tackles; interesting name for a fisherman.

The clique?

A think there are a few of those...

Are you in one of them?

You know .... 'them'.

Those people that don't agree with him.

Those people that will argue against him when he says something that they don't agree with.

You know .... 'the clique'.

Ah right.... Those that have an alternate view to someone's view. So this is the 'clique'.

When I disagree with my wife, me, myself and I am the 'clique'. And so is she, herself and her. Fascinating.

Paranoia gone mad.

Can't wait for Viney to arrive but tell me this. Does anyone see a problem with Jones, Mckenzie, Moloney and Viney all playing In the side? A little one dimensional? All of them love the hard ball but how many of those sorts can a team play In the one side.. Maybe add Gysberts also.

Did you see Hodge, Lewis, Mitchell and Sewell going around for the Hawks the other night? Honestly don't think it's a problem at all. In fact, bring it on!

Be that as it may, the chances of Viney coming to us are as sure as the Sun rising in the morning. The drafting process for him is merely a formality..

I'm ust thinking ease of access for the Demonland members.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
