Hey guys,

Well its been around 16 years supporting the club i love and finally i think i am going to get to go to the Queens Birthday clash this year! This is the first time i am going to the MCG and to watch the Dees in Melbourne!

Along with my girlfriend, brother and my mate that i have converted to the Dees!

Pretty excited!

Have a few questions-

1. We are all members, interstate members and we get 5 free games in Melbourne. So do we just bring our membership cards and rock up on the day or do we have to book seats? We really want to sit with other Dee supporters! haha

2. Anything you can suggest us do on our stay? We are looking at 3 or 2 nights.

Thanks guys!

Just rock up on the day with the cards and you'll be fine, you get a general admin seat.

There will be planty of Dees supporters to sit with.

Visit:

Southbank

Fed Square (Even do the march to the G prior to the game from Fed square with hundreds/thousands of other Dees)

Rug up. :)

Yep, make sure you do the 'March to the G'. A 'tradition' started by Melbourne and now copied by others! (See the MelbourneFC for full details.)

Just be aware that because we are playing Collingfilth, the canteens tend to sell a lot of 'easily chewable' food due to the lack of teeth in their supporters mouths!

Queens Birthday is the one match of our season where all the members areas are heaving, so given you only have access to General Admission seats and you'll want 4 together, I would turn up quite early, no later than 12.30pm, so you can try and get the best seats possible. The GA areas go from the Punt Rd end 50m arc > behind the Punt Rd end goals on Levels 1 and 4. May be enquire with the club if GA members can access any type of reserved seating for a fee.

Unless you can access a reserved seat I would skip the Walk to the 'G as you'd then be risking your vantage point for the big game.

As for suggestions as to what to do, it really depends on the type of people you are. Young or old? Party or wine and dine? Art gallerys or pubs? Shopping or exploring? It's a long weekend so there will be plenty to do no matter what your tastes.

Thanks guys!

How much are reserved tickets on the second level or whatever?

Would love to partake in the walk to the G to soak up the atmosphere.

Ticketing

Make your selections on the right - looks like there are "club member upgrades" under the reserved seating section.

I'm another who is going to his first QB bash!

Booked my flight from Sydney and hotel in the city two days ago... can't wait! Last saw them in Shanghai, but it's been a few seasons since I have had the chance to see them play here in Sydney.

Haha i'm not having a go at you, but have a look at the pathetic crowd thread and if mother's day wasn't a fair excuse i'm not sure living interstate is either!!

On a proper note though, I hope you enjoy it QB is fantastic and i'm there every year. We lifted last year, I'd love that same effort this time around!

Great to hear you making it to your first QB clash. It will be a day to remember, they are so full of atmosphere. If you get reserve tickets DO NOT get ponsford/city end seats. The woods sit there

I think it's about $20 for a guest pass into the redlegs area Mousey, Punt rd end. Access to the Hassett room which has players not playing that day speak at half time and retired players usually in attendance on QB.

Make sure you attend the post match function as well, good chance to chat with players and other supporters.

Great option - but order the passes early (via the club) as they will sell out early.

Is that $20 on top of the usual members free admission, or on top of a paid reserved ticket?

$18 on top of both.

It provides seating in designated guest bays P10 – P12 (they provide a good view) so you could try your luck there, or opt for a reserved seat as well / instead.

Guest Passes

As FD stated, it gives you access to the Hassett Room.

The whole area will be filth free.

"Premium Members (Legends, Trident and Redlegs) can purchase up to 10 guest passes per match for family and friends to sit in designated guest bays P10 – P12 for Melbourne home games at the MCG."

Not much good for him as he is not a Premium Member.

Unless a premium member reading here would like to do mousey a favour and book on his behalf?

Good point daisycutter.

FWIW I've never been asked for my membership details but PM me if you need to Mousey.

Hey Mousey - same boat!! 25 year supporter from WA...

Have always "celebrated" the East Coast holiday as it always coincides with me bday! (Best Evers - karaoke Friday, GunsNRoses Sunday, Demons win Monday = 2008?)

1st evers QB Match, following bday karaoke Melbourne styles!

Is it really the case that if you do Walk To The G you're likely to miss out on good seats? Is the way to go the upgraded reserved seating?

Whereabouts is the HalfTime Deez Members/ Hasset room? Is that also where the post-game function is?

Cheers!

No, I don't think so.

Is the way to go the upgraded reserved seating?

It depends how fussy you are about seating (and how many seats you/your group need/s).

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
