If Brisbane had J Brown we would've been flogged. They were all over us in the last qtr.

Besides rnd 1 and including the signs coming from the pre-season games we have been sh!thouse!!

Pathetic. Nothing to show or be gained from any game we've competed played in.

I joined this forum about four years ago because I felt so pssed off. Everyone at the club says things are different but it feels just the same. I'm so sick of players who think they're better than they are. I don't want to mention names 'cos I'm sick of it but we have so many selfish player who only play well when we're in front. SELFISH OPPORTUNISTS!!!!!

Morton no pressure outy of bounds on the full...col sylvia no pressure misses green lead...is bailey to blame

it is baileys fault if he's not communicating, relating to and driving the players to perform to their optimum

To be the best, you have to get the best coach - Malthouse is the best but won't be available next year. We will end up like St Kilda with Thomas - lots of high draft picks, and nothing to show for it. Roos or Matthews are both available now (I'd even take Craig Bellamy from the Storm ahead of Bailey). Both would build a strong support team as well. No caretaker coaches please - like many supporters. I've donated money, bought the memberships, waited patiently but I want to see improvement. Not a coach walking up and down the sideline patting the players as they come on and off the ground.

No words can describe what i watched tonight.

We all know what we think of the effort !

I'm seriously going to struggle to go watch this team until something changes.

No motivation here

Exactly, feeling it in the guts. Watched the players walk off, is what they should be feeling acceptable to them? It's not like the first time this has happened. Don't they learn, do they FEEL it?

What we've just watched is no surprise, it is almost predictable now. Who wants a team with such a culture?

What has happened to our back line? Loose men all night, no pressure, no idea.

At least Jack darling has done me well in my dream team.

Disgusted!

i am feeling a little confident tonight...listening to all the coaches on radio so far, the Club fully realizes what this game means. This one is all about RESPECT.

It is a good side on paper....selected for Pace according to Choco Royal.

This team is lost.....there is no other way to describe it...they are playing spineless reactionary football. We know it is not a matter of the player talent. The competition largely contains an even spread of talent, and the draft creates that, albeit that they are at different stages of development. What then, is the difference at Melbourne? It simply must be the coaching, and the apparent lack of ability to instill a hardness of approach. I have so desperately wanted to avoid that conclusion, but there is no other.

For what other reason does our team consistently, and I mean game after game, show a lack of sheer team oriented desire? At the very least you want to see a consistent determination and a sense of pride. It makes me in equal parts embarrassed and frustrated to be a supporter of this club. The irony is that I think we will beat Adelaide. In the warm protected cocoon of the MCG, we'll put out enough to win, and maybe by a decent margin, but there'll be absolutely no less frustration, because any way you look at it, it would be a soft win.

I want to see hard wins, or even hard losses, and three times a year isn't enough. I want to support a club that makes me feel their pride and desire, and I feel sorry for guys like Jack Trengove, Luke Tapscott, Brent Moloney, Nathan Jones, Mark Jamar and some others who have to sit on this rudderless yacht. I'd be looking for any possility to jump ship. It wouldn't be disloyalty, just a means to preserve what pride they have left.

No Heart!

Too many ball gazers!

A typical Melbourne performance, I'd be lying if I said I had never seen a performance like that in 28 years of watching our games! Maybe a change of coach at the end of the year may bring an underachieving group of talented footballers a greater understanding of what it takes to win games and play out four quarters. They no longer need a mentor but a winning mentality and a game plan to achieve it!

Bring on Adelaide!

That is one of the worst effort's I have ever seen by the Melbourne Football Club and sadly there is plenty too choose from. I hate being a member of a club that is a joke and we are and have been for a long time now. I like Dean Bailey but his time is up, it is just a matter of when it happens. I would like to see the club be proactive and make that this week, because enough is enough.

Bruce is currently the Hawks worst player and will end up playing the year out at Box Hill. His saved salary will help us keep players like Scully. Move on, Bruce is not the reason we lost nor is losing a 35 year old Junior.

Where are the "MFCSS"-saying people now??? You all know who I am talking about... Maybe they can finally see what the rest of us have been saying for years.

FYI - MFCSS is really an acronym best used to describe those that, despite all evidence to the contrary, constantly say that tomorrow will be warm and sunny - even in the middle of a cold-snap.

I'm sick of this crap.

I was simply pointing out the lack of senior players in comparison....we have none of the ilk that the eagles do....

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol
