I've noticed people have had a go at guessing the margin by which Melbourne will beat the Suns (or possibly vice versa) so thought we'd start a poll on this issue.

I think we'll start well (no I have not been drinking) and it's easier to bypass CHF at the Gabba - where we've been breaking down.

Once it's in the suns d50 they'll struggle. Once we're on top they'll panic, we're fitter and will run it out.

Our skills will be sharpened after two wet slogs and conditions will be suited to our flashy softies.

However I like Dappa Dan's view in another thread that struggling for a 2 goal win would be a better result.

The last thing this team needs is to feel comfortable after flogging the easy beats and enjoy a week off. We have a healthy list that should do everything possible to improve over the bye and prepare better than they ever have for the trip West.

Apparently it is going to be wet on Sunday in Brisbane

Edit: 26 with Showers, 5-10mm of rain expected

I read your original post a bit quickly and thought you implied our performance was poorer due to the wet, hence by weather update. But your sarcasm is appreciated.

By 37 points. But I will be over the moon with another win. They feel they can beat us and they are an improving side and be at home.

Just for the record, when is the last time Melbourne beat a team by over 100. I reckon Melbourne have flogged teams much less than other AFL sides. I know we smashed Sydney last year, but prior to that, can't remember a win of that margin or more.

Melbourne by 21 points I think we will run over them in the last qrt but the first half will be a struggle I'm just not sold on our game plan

Oh well, bring in Bate then. And Maric may be handy in the Whett. Also McDonald is a bigger body.

42 points in a totally unimpressive display against the worst side since, well since us 2 years ago.

We'll either win, or we'll lose. Unless it's a draw.

(getting in touch with my inner Malcolm Blight/Robert Walls/pick a commentator who says mind-numbingly obvious stuff ... oh wait, that's all of them!)

Don't know if it was the last time, but I was there when Melbourne smashed Carlton by 105 points in 2004, round 6. They beat us by 5 goals in round 21 later that year.

But you are right we don't seem to belt teams, nearly all our wins are under the 39.5 margin. kinda sucks, really want to see the form we showed against the Lions last year in round 6, and the swans later on.

Don't know if you can take much out of this but the Bulldogs led the Suns by 57 points midway through the 2nd qtr and only added 14 points to that for the rest of the game. Seemed to be more than competitive in the 2nd half. So they may trouble us like a lot of people are thinking. Perhaps the dogs backed off a little, but I doubt it with how important percentage is. If we play as poorly as we did in that 1st qtr v brissy, will get beat. Play like we did to get back into that game, or the 2nd qtr v the Hawks and we should win be 60+

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
