Leave RF out of this discussion.....HE WAS SIMPLY A FREAK ! Cale, as a versatile player with a touch of class, needs to bulk up a bit to improve his competitiveness.....and that includes for a guaranteed spot in the side !

I meant no comparison between Cale and Robbie on talent. Merely that if this kind of forum was alive in Robbies day he would have copped the same in regard to physique

I don't care how skinny Cale is, as long as he's not pushed easily off the ball, do not fear the boy has talent and some of the "skinny" players are b;oody tough

And so it begins. The endless list of ridiculous injuries that seem to plague our best players year in year out.

Brilliant.

Is Morton one of our "best" at present? He is one of our greatest long-term prospects mayhaps...

He has been bloody unlucky with injury the last couple of seasons. Will miss a MAXIMUM first 2 rounds of the season proper.

This has been a bad day so far.....Get well soon Cale. We need you.

Agree with this statement, although Scully's management coming out to say he hasn't signed and they haven't even talked to GWS ,I say is great news. And Morton can still run. do weights etc..and EAT...this may even make him bigger and stronger..

Looking on the bright side he can still keep up his running fitness unlike last year.

Breathe in, breathe out. This is an annoying setback; it's not a great calamity.

Thanks Yoda. I'll make sure to consult you next time I want to express an emotion so you can confirm whether or not it is acceptable.

Okay! I surrender.

not a disaster.

Season started in like 7 weeks, he should almost be ready round 1.

He will still be able to run. He'll also be able to do ball handling kills once they put something on his finger to protect it

Posted

That sucks. Still, it's something that lets him run and do weight work. He just can't play with a football.

He won't be doing any weights in the next few weeks. His finger will need to be immobilized after the operation.

Jeez. Already some big names coming out of the side and the season hasn't even started yet. At least he's done the bulk of the preseason and can still run. And he won't miss more than 1 or 2 real games.

Midfield/wing rotations will be interesting now.

Well then... blokes like Blease and "Noddy" (Gysberts) now have the opportunity to play some senior footy by filling the void!! :)

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
