I think we're all clutching at straws.

How about we bring them all down to AAMI park and play jack in the pack, whoever ends up with the ball gets the gig.

Yes we are. Truth is, none of them are any good.

Hearing Paul Hamilton just a second ago on SEN radio...

Apparently both Neagle & Atkinson have both shown over their 10 days of preseason so far, that their training standards are not up to scratch.

I didn't catch the name, but they were given 2 days to improve their attitude & intensity and one of the players didn't even bother showing up to training the next day.

Definitely not what we want at our club.

It was Atkinson. He walked away from football when he found out he needed to train harder.

Neagle will keep training with Essendon in the hope of a rookie list spot.

Anthony is the only player that has achieved anything of note at AFL level. So if we were to go after someone IMO it should be him. Can also play down back unlike Thorp or Neagle.

Also can people stop saying that Anthony is the same size as our other forwards such as Green. Brad is 184cm 83kgs and plays way above his size(brilliantly I might add), whilst Anthony is 192cm 92 kgs. A completely different player.

To paraphrase -

"It's the fish Scott Clayton rejects, that make Scott Clayton the best..."

Can't say I'm excited about any of them. For pick 50 something you could do worse than Jack Anthony, he may yet bloom again.

Probably the only real quality experienced player available is Cameron Bruce, but he wouldn't really suit our needs and wouldn't be around long enough to really help towards a premiership.

So another year of kids it is.

This year on Demonland, let's do something novel and entertain the idea of using all four of our draft picks on untried players. This idea is nothing new to the FD, but I'm just hoping that one day, just maybe, it might catch on on the forum.

Do I pass?

The maths will agree with you.

John Jack Anthony, but is called jack for some reason

Personal choice says this quote from the article in the Jack Anthony thread...

"Honest to the point of abrasive, and with a raft of personality quirks, he was thought by rival recruiters to be uncoachable. Refusing to answer to his birth name John - Jack had a better ring to it - he struggled to find his niche at the club."

He's called Jack becausae he has Jackshit chance of playing for Melbourne

Or the fact Jack is "short" for John, the way Dick is short for Richard and Harry is short for Henry.

Sad news about Atkinson. i thought he showed something. He has terrific pace and could have filled the small defenders role. Maybe he needs a good role model like Davey.

I think Essendon are just giving Neagle a kick in the pants, and will look to pick him up as a rookie.

Their footy manager has said that.

Houli looks set to go to Richmond via the PSD.

Atkinson is a list clogger.

Neagle likewise, but I'd prefer him to Jack Anthony...

Any interest..?

(this is a test...)

Preference for Neagle over Anthony.Your kidding or just a fool.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
