It is a great coup for the Demons and it is good to see that it is finally WE who are poaching from other clubs.

And re Jack: if the kid is half as tough and honest as his father then we have a great player in the making. Hopefully he kicks better than his old man :)

Let's get one thing straight from the outset. Jack Viney is not half as tough as his father. Based on what I've heard he's tougher.

Well that's it then.

Let's put him on the next flight to Shanghai and put him in the 22 to play Brizvegas in the place of Kyle Cheney.

It is amazing the bond that seems to be with the players that played together through the late 80's and the 90's. They have all come back to the club and seem to be working together to achieve the premiership that we all want.

If i was Cale Morton i would be getting very worried. At the rate that we are getting players from the late 80's back to the club, it wouldn't surprise me to see one Robbie Flower running round the 'G, down the members wing come round 1 next season!!!

YOU BLOODY RIPPER.

That is great news. Always loved Todd and hated to see him at the Hawks and Crows. Will bring huge amounts of knowledge to the club.

This reeks of Stynes and Cam S getting into his ear. Great work whoever was responsible

Looks like I am buying my membership early this year to tell them "well done" on the coup.

And the final bonus we might get some inside word on how to win in SA. Would be bloody nice to win over there next season.

Go YOU BLOODY DEMONS

This is unbelievable!

What an absolute masterstroke, and a magnificent example of terrific management from Jim, Schwabby and the club.

And what a coup to have a Melbourne legend back with the experience he has gained over the past years in such a key role.

We have some brilliant people running this club at the minute.........great work MFC, great work!!!!!!!

Add a Fitz in there and I think that could be a nice little poll to set up, just for the sake of it.

Best hold off until after the draft, could well be a further addition with Jack Darling.

I'm a bit disappointed how the media are portraying Todd's return to the club. I would expect the majority of media to have some sort of understanding as to a past players relationship with his old club.

In Todd's case, he returns to the club & attends numerous funtions, did so while at Hawthorn & Adelaide. Does his passion for his club not have enough to it, to see that his son would want to carry that legacy forward?

Does having him as coach really make the much difference? It could back fire and the kid might not want to go where his dad is!!

Always has to be another angle.

Sensational news! We're getting serious now.

The press angle is being driven by Adelaide whinging. I have some sympathy for them re F-S they were clearly dudded on Bryce Gibbs whose father played something like 250 SANFL games but still didn't qualify on some dubious time-based technicality. Carlton scooped up Gibbs and Marc Murphy. There's evidence at Brisbane, Collingwood and Geelong that F-S can make a big impact on a flag.

Let's not worry too much about the media. We are Melbourne & we know what is going on. Todd has returned home to not only visit, but to seriously help the MFC become the Power club of the AFL. Bring it on.

Forgetting about Jack for a second, i reckon this is a fantastic get for the club. He is one of my favourite all time players, loved the way he went about his football and was a great, albeit short lived captain. Whilst i'm not 100% on his role, it sounds like young player development is one of our major focuses at the club, and understandably so.

Apart from the fact that Jack sounds like a fantastic prospect, bearing in mind he is only 16, it's a real feel good story for the club with the son of such a well respected club great joining us in what we hope will be a successful period for the Dees. I hope he can forge a name for himself in his own right, i'm sure his dad will be giving him a few pointers along the way!

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
