Rivers (Oct '84) is actually a few weeks younger than Gilham (Sept '84)

Fair play, that is surprising, seems like Rivers has been round for ages.

Reckon the rumour has bout as much credibility as weapons of mass destruction (just like most trade week rumours)

Thought i'd throw it out there

Is Gilham taller? Faster? Better kick? Come to think of it, does Gilham have any advantages over Riv?

This one doesn't sound right either.

Love to know which clubs asked about the availability of two of the Jacks. Tongue in cheek methinks?

Reckon Gilham is a much better kick, and would provide better run outta defence, by all means I wouldn't want Rivers traded.

Courage that Rivers has dont fall off trees.

As for Jacks maybe west coast want Watts in a direct swap for Natanui!!! crack open that old chesnut again

Clubs enquiring about Watts and Trengove??!?

Hahahhahahaahah

And I'll just take this opportunity to remind everyone again that I said Hutchy was talking out his arse.

Listen to me in future, you'll go far.

It's been reported that the decision is now being left to Hale with where he wants to go, sounds like the Roos has accepted our offer.

The only thing Hutchy is interested in is ratings, the truth comes a distant second.

Don't recall anyone else saying so.

And there is a difference between saying "bullsh!t" and saying "bullsh!t, and this is why..."

You mean there are people who actually need it explained to them???

What, you think we haven't learnt that from Hutchy in the past ?

I still think he thinks Ablett is staying put. B)

Alright lads, here my community service for the year.

On David Hale:

- talks progressing pleasingly

- have been into Hale for a while

- the swap of the first round pick 12 to North for 17 is bollocks

- currently all that is on the table is pick 32

- did mention you have a start point of what you are willing to offer as well as an end point should other clubs i.e. Hawthorn provide competition

- not worried about the Hawks, focus on only what you can control

- Harrington coming from North using personal knowledge about the player

- also feel that whilst Hale is physically at his peak, the role he would play at Melbourne may provide a boost to career

- Dees predominately a lead up forward line at the mo, want to create some front and square opportunities for goal

- new interchange will require flexability from players, Hale has this

- Hale is an accurate kick

On Warnock:

- very brief

- required player

- has not been asked about too much

- some clubs have been asking bout the availability of J Watts and J Trengove.

Reckon there are plenty of other deals which are in the pipeworks that he wouldn't discuss, these are the two which are out in the public domain.

I heard today from a mate with Puma contacts that Melbourne are into Gilham from the Hawks and are offering up Rivers....thought Rivers 2nd half of the season was pretty good, though Gilham quite bit younger, my 2 cents reckon we would win outta this given age and Gilham provides more run outta defence.

Beautifull, thanks Double Dee. Love your work.

That sounds very sensible. Sounds like the best for Hale as well.

- it is what the kangas have asked for.

I agree hangon007.Could be a great marriage. Also able to bring our quick crumbers into play. Davey, Wonaeamirri and even Jurrah are great under their knees and this would be(Hale)great to crumb to.

Why would clubs even bother asking about two of our best young kids in Watts (just signed 3 year deal) and Trengove (2 years remaining on contract)? WTF?!

Bizarre, isn't it?

Maybe they thought they were attainable for some ridiculous reason?

They are not.

I didn't hear the interview, but one doesn't need to be Einstein to realise it was said tongue in cheek.

This site has been the pits to read lately.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
