jumbo returns

Recommended Posts

There is no hope for finals' action this year, so let's ice the assets: to finish early -

Scully

Trengove

McKenzie

Jurrah (injured anyway?)

Frawley (injured?)

Bennell (tired)

Watts (looks pummelled)

Bail

Bring in the big bodies for the next two weeks and let's all upgrade our membership fo 2011 to make sure we secure a GF ticket.

Winning culture. Winning games. Keeping the team together.

I hope the selection panel sticks with our crop of players for the remaining 2 weeks (minus Davey plus Moloney).

Besides... we can STILL make the 8 if Hawthorn gets smashed in the next 2 weeks by Freo and Collingwood; North lose next 2 games against West Coast in Subi and us; and we beat Port and North!!! :D

Worst. Suggestion. Ever.

^This.

Seriously, with our best chance to break the AAMI hoodoo and still with a mathematical chance to play finals, why would we rest all these players? Horror move if this happened. Not a chance.

It's what Bailey has reiterated all year and has drilled into the player's and supporter's heads. Keep the best team we can possibly field together and let them gel.

No use going in with the mentality of "let's blood all these young talented guys and see what they can do". We're not tanking this year and when form warrants, guys such as Blease, Tappscott and Fitzy will be selected.

AND neither of these points have anything to do with my reasoning.

What will resting the kids actually achieve for the club? How could we possibly benefit from it?

We're all about developing a premiership team, so let's develop it, not wrap the kids in cotton wool.

Mad Monday is outdated and a societal menace. Can't debate without sarcasm or emoticons? Typical.

I rarely use emoticons, but for you I made an exception.

Sarcasm doesn't hide the point I'm making.

What on earth would we need to rest them for??

We are 2 weeks away from THE END OF OUR SEASON.

There is no logic involved in your argument.

I have to agree with E25's argument here.

It's a mere two weeks time until all player's will have their well-deserved break and can recuperate from that day forward.

Until then, they need to do what they're paid to do - play football for the team they love and help the club move forward.

Doesn't mean anything. They will still have the same rest, they just come back earlier.

Rest them now before the niggles manifest into long term injuries.

E25, I don't know how old you are, or for how long you've followed this Club, but this is the most exciting

list I've ever seen in my time. Ice them, let them rest, we're in for a fantastic five or six years.

2 MORE WEEKS, MATE!! For the sake of 2 weeks, unless some players do have niggles that are irritating them and causing pain, they have 4 hours of footy left that I'm sure they could carry about before they get their break!!!

Field the best team available, hopefully win next 2 games and finish 5 & 1 and be the best team outside the 8.The team will be pumped all preseason.

If there must be a romantic undertone,Tapscott to debut in hometown @ AAMI.

I'm not convinced he's earned it and no-one wants to debut on a freeby.

Seeing as Port only attracted 14,000,maybe Tappy will bring a few more through the turnstiles!!!

I've not advocated playing anyone through injury.

They will have the same rest? Not only is it wrong, even if it wasn't, it would be a poor argument.

The players don't end the season 2 weeks early and then come back for preseason 2 weeks earlier.

Even if they did, 2 more weeks of AFL matches would be more beneficial than 2 weeks of preseason while the veterans are still out because they played to round 22.

To be honest, I'm not sure how any of this is even relevant.

We are in for a good patch. So?

The "ice babies" have niggles, do they ?

If they don't you play them. Bailey has said numerous times they will field the best side possible.

Here is three of many good reasons: -

* They're not injured.

* Junior's 250th.

* AAMI

I don't know about the OP, but I don't want my team to get belted in the final two weeks. Go hammer and tong and throw everything at your opponents. Finish the season on a high, and take it into next season. We're 10th, not 16th.

Play the team on form. Davey opens a spot. Fitzpatrick gets a gig on form...

"Jack Fitzpatrick: I thought it was Jack’s best game for the year. He played in the ruck and kicked a couple of goals. He had 15 possessions and was competitive in the ruck against Sam Jacobs, who was best the week before for the Bullants against Frankston. Jack played on him and I thought he started to out jump Jacobs by the end of the game. He was really promising and gets better the more games he plays."

Tapscott on potential and some form.

As for the rest get as many senior games into them as you can.

If the rumour about Jamar being injured had any truth to it then I wouldn't be against resting him for the interstate game. So important he has a good pre-season. I would be pretty excited to see Fitzy get a game or two with the big boys just to give him something to thinl about during the pre-season.

No resting, if injured don't play them, simple.

Otherwise, get over to Adelaide and break that Hoodoo!!

In the unlikely event that Hawthorn lose to Freo, we are still a silly chance  . Keep playing to win boys!

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
