I guess Dermie, like others, prefer the "peaceful quiet emblems" that recognise their history and heritage: -

I guess Dermie, like others, has still not got over 1996.

In what way..?

I'd say they've done pretty well since they voted no to a merger.

I cannot believe that some person/organisation has been paid money to come up with such a bland and souless logo. It does not grab my 50 plus years demon heartstrings. A football- how original. A southern cross- great if we were miners. A trident - relevant if King Neptune is a major sponsor. It's too much - less is always more. Thia is typical agency cr--.

wait till later to see what logo they come up with

A bit rich for Dermie to comment about our Emblem being busy, have you ever heard him try to explain a point he makes? That is 'busy'!

Well, each to their own, even within the Demon fraternity. But I love it, just love it and the story behind it especially after the interactive video on the website.

Just love, love that poem. It encapsulates everything about the Emblem and in my case had the hairs on the back of the neck rising.

A suggestion to all - play the poem, then play the boys belting out the song after the Brissy game. If that doesn't get the red & blue blood pumping, nothing ever will.

Cheers!

Gee I certainly felt that tingling feeling up my spine as I listened to that wonderful poem!! It comes right from the heart.

For many years people used to say what does your club stand for and really all one could say was we invented the game and we are the oldest sporting club in the world but is that all we stood for? but after watching whiteboard wednesdays one could see a theme coming from the red and blue blueprint and finishing with the emblem and watching the video of it I now understand what we stand for.

For those who say the emblem is to busy I have a saying, "History is to be remembered not lived" and that is what the emblem is all about in my view so well done to the club for reminding us of what the club stands for!!

Not surprisingly, all of the posts criticizing the emblem have completely missed the point.

Well done MFC.

It is busy, but not too busy.

"Busy" is a rather silly criticism anyway.

Do you reckon any of these emblems have a problem because they're "busy"? (l-r: Australia, Tasmania, NZ coat of arms)

Nice work.

It looked incredible on the Footy Show last week with the flames behind it. I'll agree that it's a busy emblem but it doesn't hurt the product whatsoever, great effort by the club, I really like it.

Cheers DJ16. I wasn't aware of that. That explains the shield for the emblem.

Nor was I and for mine this fact gives the shield another strong MFC link rather than thoughts of a generic lending of, say an English football teams similar design.

No.

The Tasmanian one, sadly Ironicle that they killed off their own Thylecine.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
