Hopefully Blease can get some game time in the Casey 1's.

And its great to see Strauss back from injury as well.

Does look like a good list, but it's safe to say that 2 of the melbourne listed players won't be playing for the Seniors as their are 14 listed and only 12 allowed. This could mean that we're sending 2 travelling emergencies possibly. I wonder if it'd be Warnock and Maric. I think Warnock would be likely to travel get the last incident that occurred when Frawley got injured and we needed another key defender so we absorbed the fine to bring in Warnock even when he wasn't a named emergency.

Great to see Strauss back as others have said, and interesting to see Tapscott named in the backline. I wouldn't think he'd play there though, unless they're doing it for developmental reasons.

I think that the 12-10 rule only applies in finals and against non-aligned clubs during the season. Having said that, I think it is a good idea. It is also one of the main drivers behind clubs bringing in their own dedicated VFL teams.

I think I might go to this game... Is Box HIll good to watch the footy at?

I'm a little bothered by the box hill side. 17 Hawk-listed players. Is that some sort of record?

Actually all 18 starters are Hawthorn listed players, Shane Savage is a hawthorn player as well just not bolded. It helps that they only have 1 player on the injury list in Max Bailey.

We're developing some nice depth at the club playing VFL....

- Warnock, Bate and Trengove have arguably best 22 players, and could slot into the team seamlessly

- Cheney, Jetta, Maric, Martin are young players with some limitations, but have all played some senior footy and would be able to play a role in the team were they required.

- Miller, Bell are experienced big-bodies who could be called upon if required to help a young team, but probably aren't needed

- Tapscott, Blease, Strauss, Gawn are raw developing players who most expect to be pushing for a couple of games late in the season

Add to that the injuries

- Grimes, Moloney, Petterd, Gysberts

The results of other games in the current VFL round have made things interesting in the lead up to the finals.

The top two sides Williamstown and North Ballarat both lost yesterday giving Casey a chance to join them today on twelve wins.

It won't be easy however, as you can see above by the number of AFL listed players (in bold) the Hawks' team. It's not easy winning games at Box Hill City Oval and the overnight rain hasn't helper matters either.

It will be interesting to see if Melbourne flew back the emergency players for last night's game in Brisbane so they could take part in the game. I'm not sure as to who went but if it was Jack Trengove you would think he'd be keen to get a game under his belt after missing the last couple of weeks with injury.

Anyone got details of Radio coverage for this game? Need a fix, had to work last night and missed the Brisbane game last night

Half time at the ressies it's Box Hill 7.5.47. To Casey 3.8.26.

Good effort by Casey In the second quarter to peg back the hawks after they kicked 7 goals unanswered in the first quarter.

Healey, Blease and Gawn all playing. Assuming that Stef is playing seniors.

How are the boys going?

Box Hill won the reserves by 53 pts.

Blease didn't get a lot of the ball, but was all class when he did. Probably the only Casey player to consistently hit targets.

Healey was good in the clinches and attacked the ball well.

Gawn only played the first half but was extremely good against handy opponents.

A handy win to Box Hill at a ground where knowledge of the local conditions is handy.

I would suggest Jack Trengove will be in the Melbourne side next week.

Thanks KC good to hear trengove is going well. How are Bate, Jetta and Maric going?

Nice goal to Miller after the siren.

Beauty!! Got a multi running with the Tigers first to 25 points. Collected on the Scorps last week at a crazy $3.25 against the pies and again today were $2.35 outsiders!

I like the man responsible for running that book!

Go scorps!

PS - Trengove should not be playing at Casey, far too good & will be back next week for the Dees.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
