Aussie copped a knock to the shoulder & Strauss a knock to the knee.

Second-year Demon James Strauss also sustained a medial strain during the first quarter of Casey’s 41-point win. The club will have a clearer picture on the duo’s injuries on Tuesday.

This may soon open the door for Blease & Tappy to join the Casey seniors???

tapscott played 70 - 75% of the game and blease only played half

no need to rush them into the seniors maybe a couple of full games in the reserves then can take a step up

Not rushing, just excited from what I witnessed & wanted to share the pleasure of the thought,, that we could soon see them progress to the Casey seniors, hopefully in a few short weeks.

Geez, is Aussie made out of glass or something? He cannot avoid injury at this point. He plays hard, so injures are easier to find when putting your body on the line.

Gotta feel for Strauss. He was "on the bubble" for selection this year after some solid outings. I really felt he would find a way into the team this year at some point.

Too early for Blease and Tapscott to move up to the Scorps seniors. They need to get some fitness back before they can line up for a strong Casey team. Maybe 1-2 more in the 2s before an earned call up (if they are feeling right)

Yep,,, We really need to get a couple of AFL games into these 2 this year to recharge their batteries, of hope. Especially Straussy, I feel...It would be nice to see them both IN,,, for the last couple of games of the Year, to give them something to carry over the summer.

Hang on they aren't. Any chance Blease and Tapscott are coming off LT injuries and are just getting match fit and would have got a game in Casey seniors depending on fitness regardless of Wonna and Strauss?

They both worry me, I have seen plenty of examples of players over the years that are injury prone.

This pair seem to fit the mould.

More so Wona but I have a horrible gut feel thay will never reach their full potential.

From what I have seen ( Including Casey ) Wona has played 4 -5 good games not great games over 3 years ).

He may be close to the end by August, Strauss has the luxury of a little more time.

Remember 4 - 5 players have to be cut at the end of the year!

Atm the moment Blease and Tapscott are just finding their feet. Numbers in the team were not holding them back. Their relative match fitness was.

He's got another season before he's genuinely on the chopping block. They wouldn't cut him given his first season, and the fact he has been injured pretty much for his other two.

I don't think there's anyway at all he's anywhere near a block of anysort. If, he even had a bad attitude, which I don't think he has, he still would have some time.

He has enormous talent & that in itself could be a part of the problem. People often with huge talent do things easier than others, & so can work Less hard. Maybe he's having to get used to the fact that now he's in the big league, its getting a bit tougher & he's copping some injuries he's not used to. So, he has to do more work to get physically right & recover his body from the grind. This sounds & looks a likely scenario to me.

Fair assessment you make however Deeluded was not talking numbers- he was just querying with Strauss and Wona injured may allow the call up of these other two.Actually, it is my understanding that MFC can play and have played many more than 12 in games this year.It is only 12 when finals arrive.This is my understanding. I have asked KC to verify.However, I agree fitness and confidence will be the main factors holding back Tapscott & Blease at this time.

That may be true for soft tissue injuries, but a shoulder injury... that's an impact injury and one that has been sustained by skinny, toned, overweight, and beef-cakes alike.

Daniel Bell spent about 3 years getting one injury after the other, and he's one of the most toned and fit person at the club. Sometimes it's just a case of rotten luck, or players putting themselves in a position to get hurt too often (in Aussie's case, his intent to tackle has often been detrimental to his health).
