You pack of sad sacks get over it!!!!

We were 17 points down at 3 quarter time against a likely grand finalist, who then kicked away to win by 6 goals.

What more did you expect??????? Why do you think we are so special that we could easily turn it on and beat the Saints even though 90% of the comp currently can't?

Unrealistic, stupid, wankerish comments... Grow up and realise we were NEVER going to win that game and you should just look at the positives, they tackled hard, ran as much as you can with a team of men and there were some real positives from the young guys.

Dead set the only upsetting thing is that Grimes got hurt.

Other than that the result is surely better than what you could have expected before the game?

After last weekend, the fact we are playing the saints, it was at Etihad and we were in the clash top what the hell did you expect?

I AM SO OVER ALL YOU FOOLS CRYING AFTER EVERY SINGLE GAME!!!!!

WE ARE NOT A PREMIERSHIP CONTENDER YET SO WAKE UP AND SHUT THE HELLLLLL UP!!!!

PATIENCE AND LOGIC!!!!

What did everyone expect??? We matched one of the best two teams in the comp for 3 quarters and got blown away in the last. Wasn't a great performance by any means but most on here are going way to far.

Might have to go back to my old rule of steering clear of demonland for 2-3 days after a loss

FFS people, there's no need to keep rehashing the same old crap.

"We need to sack Bailey!"

"Bate/Miller/Bruce/Spencer are crap! Who decided to recruit them?"

"Our fitness department sucks!"

Seriously, just grow up! Nobody at the club has ever said that we were going to play finals this year. Nobody ever said we'd be beating top sides. All they ever said was that they wanted to get games into the young players and get them playing together more often. We are dead on track for where most people had us finishing this year. We have a chance to win two or three more, maybe as many as five if we're really lucky, but today was always a loss. Get over it.

You blokes are a joke!!!

We have been the worst team for the last 3 years and we play one of the best teams in the last few years at Etihad where we never win and you guys expect a win!!!

A 35 point loss is a win, especially when we haven't had our best forward line in all season.

Anything less than an 8 goal loss is a fair effort as the Saints are easily a 2 goal a quarter better team than us.Take away Dunn's missed goal from 25 and Jamar's free goal for deliberate and it's a 4 goal game FFS!

If you blokes seriously expected a win today at Etihad, you are either seriously delusional or know very little about the game.

Which is it?

But it wasn't out on the full. It was through the goals. Also, this is exactly what Trengove did against PA in Darwin. How was it a point then and a free today?

Because that was our goals - they stepped over the line on the kickout from memory, Trengrove punched it through to get a point up. No rule against rushing through your own goals!

What more did you expect???????

Geez i don't know, how about some intensity going into the 4th. Like you said, we were only 16 points down at 3/4 time and we didn't even give a yelp. Is it too much to expect a team to give their all for 100% of the game, cos that's what they're paid to do.

Bate = glorified Newton

Nickname should be MIA

Been saying it for a while. Will get a few cheap ones next week ala last week and will get votes. Never understood everyones love for him. I actually think Dunn is a better option than him when Sylvia and Jurrah come back in.

I still try to find positives in that Trengove was our best. Frawley did a good job on Milne. Jonesy and Moloney were good on St Kilda's best midfielders, the only issue is when they are negating we don't have anyone really in and under getting the ball.

Sorry mate, we lose games we should win against teams like West Coast. Games like this one are exactly the sort Melbourne can pull off, or at least can stay in to the end. We completely fell away. I think supporters have a right to feel disappointed.

The attitude of some on this board is laughable. What the hell do you guys expect? 22 straight weeks of great performances from a team with weak bodies?

1. Bailey is signed on until the end of 2012. Stop saying we need to get rid of him. No other coach would get more out of this side. Just give it up with the Bailey bashing. It's pointless. He's doing no worse than any other coach would.

2. This team will not be playing finals before 2012. Meaning in 2010 and 2011 we will NOT be a finals team (logic says that if you're not in the top 8, you're not a finals team), which in turn means we will most likely lose against top teams (like St. Kilda).

3. We were down by 3 goals at three-quarter time, and the way some of you are carrying on it's as if we lost by 100.

Yep cause AFL players never try.....

Couldn't just be because we were against a top 2 side could it? Not possible that the Saints just proved to be a better team?

This is pathetic next I'll hear that old line "so and so don't bleed red and blue".

Yep. Some pathetic comments here from fairweather supporters. Have a look at some of the other scores from this round.

Someone should change the name of the forum to "whingers-land".

Outtahere.

Ok psycho. How about you settle down instead of dropping to the level that you are apparently criticising.

Firstly, I would expect a team, IF getting flogged in the last quarter, to man up. How about playing man-on-man to see how that goes for the last 5 minutes to try and get a turnover. Yeah, I understand that there is some sort of "zone" that Dean obvioulsy is trying to get us to implement but FFS, 5 minutes to the end of the game. Lets see who's accountable.

Secondly,".....ran as much as you can with a team of men". You obviously watched a different game. Never did we run hard enough BACK. Yes, we all ran forward when we got the footy but when the turnover came, NOT RUNNING HARD ENOUGH. If anyone tells me that "we are a young team", bollocks. My under 16's footy team runs harder forward and back on a ground the same size.

Thirdly, Not once did anyone say here we are a premiership team but we would expect us to continue the same intensity as we applied the first 3 qtrs.

So by that line of wisdom - we have two more wooden spoons to look forward to. Can't stand this Bailey love. The guy has won 11 game in nearly three seasons - that = crap. Total rubbish.

    FEARS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne’s worst fears about the absence of Max Gawn were realised when it received a shellacking from Fremantle’s ruckmen Sean Darcy and Luke Jackson who dominated the hit out tally in their game at Optus Stadium on Sunday by a massive 47 to 19. As a result, the 50-point deficit at the end of the game proved to be a loss that was long foreseen that was two years in the making and demonstrated a complete lack of hindsight and planning from the club. To add insult to injury, Jackson was a D

    RAIN CHECK by Whispering Jack

The Frankston Dolphins broke a run of six straight losses against their neighbours, the Casey Demons and kept their hopes for a long-awaited return to the VFL finals alive with a 27 point victory over at Kinetic Stadium. Casey was welcomed to the Peninsula by grey skies, heavy rain and angry seas with threatening white-capped waves whipped up by gale force winds. After a slow start in the opening term when they failed to take advantage of the breeze, it appeared that the Demons had decided

DEMONLAND - Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland 2024 Grand Final Podcast ... before we took that last phone call from a Demonlander, we were discussing how the club overcame it’s midseason slump, the season-ending injury to Christian Petracca and the loss for a brief period of skipper Max Gawn due to a  crack to the base of his right fibula, to slowly surge up the ladder turning our detractors into believers and how it ended the year triumphant in the finals with our capta

EARLY BIRDS by KC from Casey

Wet, slippery conditions and threatening rainfalls greeted the VFL Bombers at the end of their long journey southeast of the big city on Sunday. The threatening weather combined with the fact that neither side had realistic prospects of advancing to action in September, meant that spectators gathered at a cold Casey Fields weren’t expecting a classic exhibition of football. Nor did they get one. Instead they were presented with a dour struggle that never reached great heights. It was a
