Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

So, the coodabeens are banging on about all of us going to the snow etc etc etc

Insulting as usual

As usual, the only answer is to get to the G on Monday.

(after the exams - imagine - exams on QBirthday Monday - at least it's in the a.m.)

Coodabeen pre-production meeting...

Struggling for material (again)? Check.

Demons struggling a bit? Check.

Queen's B'day Round? Check.

Ski season opening? Check.

Dust off jokes from 1976? Check.

Not many Dee fans to offend? Check.

Great thinking guys! Lets go with that brilliant material again.

Do you think our audience will remember that we trotted this out last year? (and the year before...and...)

Nahh! Top job guys.. lets go with it...

I like the Coodabeens and I like how precious and uptight Melbourne supporters get when they make snow jokes. By the way I can't wait to get to the snow this year.

I find comedians with original content a bit funnier Clint.

Was actually funny the 1st time I heard it (30 something years ago).

Love the snow too.

I think people keep up the snow jokes because it always gets a rise out of us.

As I say to my preps; Is it true? No? Then who cares what they say?

There is truth to it. Not the snow specifically but the fact that a large proportion of Melbourne supporters are in the higher income brackets, drive European cars and alike (the MCC is full of people in beige). And yes, it gets a response which is why they keep doing it, which is why I like it.

So I guess it's like saying that people that listen to the Coodabeens are radical, left-wing, bleeding-heart pinko communists like the rest of the ABC listenership?

It's used because it's a gag everyone recognises. They've been trained to laugh at it and they think repeating it makes it so.

It's tired. It's recycled. Those so-called comedians have not generated original material in more than a decade. In fact this one goes back a quarter of a century! They are SOOOOO yesterday.

I will go to the snow this year, for the first time in a long time, because I have a few spare bucks...but I'll do it when we are playing interstate.

Just like we all make jokes about Collingwood supporters having less than a full set of teeth, or having an IQ comparable to that of a tapeworm.

Or Port Adelaide supporters wearing mocassins and stealing stuff.

It's just a stereotypical thought process that's common in life. We here all know it's not true, and we all know that our supporters are actually some of the most vocal there are (36,000 at the Brisbane game sounded like 70,000).

I certainly don't go near the snow but we had a bunch of [censored] twats behind us last week that were all Melbourne (probably 8 of them). In their early to mid 30s, with their children (who kept changing teams every two seconds, even though they were dressed in MFC jumpers), discussing the snow. It gives us all a bad name. Gives me the shits, but I guess it's that jealousy thing. People hate Collingwood because they're a rich club, just as people play the snow card with us. I get annoyed with it, because the subtext is we're not passionate or care about our club. It couldn't be further from the truth, regarding my family and as has been pointed out, we are a very vocal supporter base, if smaller than the bigger Melbourne clubs.

I had a lit exam on QB back in '01. Rushed through it as fast as I could and raced to the 'G in time for the first bounce.

Really? C'mon, get over it guys, it's not a big deal at all. Yes, the Coodas bring out the same songs every year, but they are classics, and always funny... I have a laugh at it. But really, they are just about the only ones who actually mention that stereotype these days (now that we're actually decent), it's mostly died out.

You'll live.

Absolutely Clint. The reaction from the precious nellies is actually the big joke.

The actual Barry Humphries skit they played is a very funny spoof from the early 60s that could easily resonate today. I had not heard it for a while but it was another wicked Humphries take on the Melbourne he lived in.

Bring back Ivan from Ivanhoe.

I still have many of his phone calls on cassette tapes. Priceless humour!!!

Agree with that.

I think Simon Whelan who is now a county court (?) judge used to do Ivan on the calls. Simon's wit is sadly missed on the C'Beens.

I also miss Timmy from Thomastown. :( The perennial 11 yo lad with a boy crush on Craig Starcevich with the criminal low grade father. Timmy would be in his 30s by now.

Dads radio is welded to the ABC

Timmy and his dad and uncles!!! Brilliant. The remand centre was accessable to Etihad stadim via a man hole!

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
