I just want to express my appreciation over the decisions and actions made by the MFC.

First of all, the decision by the MFC heirarchy to move a home game to Darwin was a great tactical, financial and even humanitarian move;

- We made a decent profit off the game instead of a probable loss.

- We gave our players a new experience and injected a breath of fresh air into our season.

- We strengthened our relationship with our indiginous players by re-affirming our wholesome desire to connect with their families, their communities and really try to accnowledge the great importance of the indiginous culture to this indiginous game and our club.

- Thru the efforts of Stynes, Schwab, Davey, Jurrah and Co, we are creating a compassionate club by donating time and money to peoples that need help.

- By really connecting with the indiginous peoples, we not only strengthen our connection to this land and to our game, we also strengthen our spirit.

The decisions of our coaching staff were very astute.

- Playing all 4 available indiginous players for this unique game in Darwin during Dreamtime Round, showed that we value their character and culture and we really believe in them as people and players. It also gave our playing group an injection of spirit and excitement. All players played well.

- Leaving Spenser out of the side and letting Sylvia compete in the ruck, I believe is a master-stroke. It really gave Sylvia a challenge in which he stood up with flying colors.

- Leaving Warnock (a gun) out of the side and bringing in McDonald, was a good move, It should be done on a regular basis and only play warnock if we need him for a particular 'monster' forward. Otherwise, speed in the backline is more important.

- Miller playing at full forward was a good move.

- Davey as captain and given more time in the middle.

And a special well done to the players who performed like the Demons they are.

Now the new challenge must be to make the finals. Firstly by licking the cats at the cattery.

I hope we see more of it.

Other clubs are getting involved as well which is a credit to them.

Perhaps the AFL should be consider more games up there (with a special rule to deal with the conditions like a shorter or set time for each quarter).

Ok, not sure they were in the centre though, and anyway you look at it, it was a strange move to put him in there ahead of Miller. It cost us Goals. And please dont get me wrong i am not having a go at Col, i thought he had a real Dip, just a puzzling decision that all.

Would have thought that, if someone was to be dropped for MacDonald, it would have been Rivers, as Warnock is in better form and is a better player. Given that it was Warnock who missed out I'd say he was truly injured/sore/not 100%.

True, but I think BIH was talking more about Sylvia's overall game, which was good and a lot better than his previous month. Maybe the extra responsibility or the change in role helped him find some form. But yes, when he was actually rucking he was well beaten, and their comeback coincided with Brogan dominating over Sylvia in the fourth.

I can't agree with that line. Warnock is twice the player Joel MacDonald is. He's also just as quick across the ground. If he's fit we have to have him in the side.

Warnock is a keeper and most know that - end of story.

I think the congrats goes a bit further:

* Congrats on membership numbers

* Congrats on twitter usage and communication

* Congrats on trading TJ and getting Grimes

* Congrats on not getting Ball and getting Gysberts and Tapscott

* Congrats on paying 100% of salary cap in light of gold coast and a successful future

* Congrats on dean bailey re-signing. I was dubious at best but can now see the light and pressure released

* Congrats on training facilities and NT and Casey move - We need to grow

* Congrats on getting Connoly and Schwab - massive keys

etc etc

Altho we haven't got everything right we are headin in a great direction. I would have liked to see White hang around another year or two but I also think the Docklands move could be exciting. I hope everyone repays the work by showing up to matches

Overall, an excellent post, Burn in Hell. But, like others here, can't agree with your Warnock comment. He was out with general soreness. apparently needed a rest and, due to the match ups, last Sat night was the game he got his rest. He's become our super Mr Reliable down back, and is crucial to our backline going forward.

From what I saw on TV, we definitely seem to have had the bulk of the local support at the ground.

Somehow, the "Dreamtime Game" seems more appropriate in Darwin than at the "G", anyway! Let's hope it becomes a permanent fixture!

With all that news coverage of Jimmy & the club up there we kicked just as many goals off the Park as on.

Excellent marketing from what i saw. The Demons MOJO is returning. Melbourne is part of Australia.

Our home is the MCG. Imagine if some of those kids watching last saturday night in Darwin come down to the MCG for maybe 2 weeks in a couple of years time

to a home game of 60-70,000. How Pumped will they be. To be told "This is your home ground to little demon"

Great Post, Really starting to sense the club has turned the corner and are beginning to make the right decisions to turn us into a force once more.

Just need a few more free to air games which we will earn over the next couple of seasons to attract some new supporters to the club!
