From what i have herd and seen - Quintin Lynch is not getting a game at West Coast and does not seem to be getting along with the coach. Having said this i reckon it mite not be such a bad idea to try and grab him at the end of the year. He would be a good inclusion down at our struggling forward line and help jack watts and liam jurrah develop and play against the much bigger bodies. your thoughts?

From memory the guywas recruited as a mature ager..25-27 soemthing like that? He has been around for 4 to 5 years I reckon. So just how old is he? I would do the research myself but I can't access AFL sites from my work. The question for me would be how old is he, how much footy doe he have left and can we get him for nothing? If yes yes yes and he loses the glove I'd consider it

I think you might confusing him with another Eagle. Lynch is about the same as Jamar!

While there would be merit in bringing in a more experienced big man to help bring along the younger ones, I think it would be a waste.

He wouldn't bring any more to the list than Miller and PJ are now!

This guy switched 'on' is a scary and dangerous proposition. Make no mistake about it. But in saying that, go with what those guys said..

Is it the big Q ?.the one who throws the glove off like a WWF finishing manouver when he lines up for goal? Yeh i may have him confused. There was some other mature age FF that the Weagles had for a while.

Would love to see him in Red n Blue, just for the fact he is Jacksmum's favourite player and it would help in my neverending quest to convert her to the Mighty Demons.

Was his name Troy Wilson? Recruited at about 27-28. Like Podsiadly at Cats this year.

By the way I would not be so quick to dismiss a player like Lynch if he could be gotten for nearly nothing. I have posted this before and said an experienced big body for a few years can help the new kids like Watts and Fitzpatrick settle in.

I heard he is not getting a game because he had spoken to the gold coast and the eagles found out.

Though I have no basis to say that is the case just what j heard so take it for what it is...

Lynch Has Gold Coast written all over him!

He can't get a game in an average side and i think he is around 27 surely the Gold Coast would not have him on there list of the top 50 targets??

Going to be the only one here but let's not be stupid.

Every thread I've read on here speaks of how terrible we are at presenting up the ground.

Each week we toss up whether to use Bate or Miller as a target for a guy who can take a mark, make a contest etc up the ground.

I think if we could sign Lynch to a 2 year deal for not much you'd be so unbelievably naive to turn it down.

One: Judging on VFL Watts is currently being used as a running wingman suggesting he's not going to be the huge KPF we had hoped for. A dominating half forward flank appears to be what Bailey thinks he will be.

Regardless Lynch's physical dominance would alleviate an enormous amount of pressure of him and our other young players.

If a team gets very physical at the moment we just don't have that player.

All he would do was too put extra pressure on our young forwards to earn their spot!

We could ask him to go AFL draft and pick him up in the 60's. Don't see any negative.

Feel free to disgaree

I hope that by the time the next draft comes around, we will have forgotten that Lynch ever existed, and we will have seen enough development in Martin and Watts, and possibly Fitz and Gawn, to get us even more excited about the future.

I think Michael Newton might just be better than Lynch...............seriously!

Lynch is a very one dimensional footballer, and would cost us 100k a year more than Newton just to play down at Casey. List cloggers like Lynch can walk right past the MFC. WE need to find super talent if we are going to rise.

Save that roster spot for a Kid in the next draft.

Who wouldn't. Still amazed he wasn't named All Australian last year.

No thanks on the Q Train. How old is he now, 45?

I'm all for the idea of trading in a very accomplished out of favour forward.

Lynch is missing the first bit though.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
