I didnt attened but wonder was the MCC still full guys? And was it like old school suburban football with such a low crowd? I remember the HS describing it as a graveyard. (This was the twilight game by the way)

From memory even the members area looked empty. Most of the 12K people taht were there were under cover.

I bought myself one of the plastic disposable rain coats so I could sit out in the open, coz I think it is important to make it look as full as possible (futile attempt on that day). However by half way through the 1st quarter the sun was out and by half way through the second it was actually quite warm.

Was listening to the radio and Bartlett laid his boots into the crowd, which is fair enough, but he could have mentioned the lousy weather in the morning.

I was there with my two kids. We all come from different directions these days and I was the first one there. It was a cold day, but I had had a look at the weather channel and was hopeful that it would clear up by match time. Our seats are in the open, our choice, and I got wet several times before my daughter showed up and said that she would prefer to go upstairs out of the rain; we adjourned to the standing area, out of the rain to await her brother. By the time my son arrived, the game had just started and the weather had cleared up and we took our customary seats to watch a glimpse of things to come as MFC knew that this was game they could afford to win.

I was there at that game this year, but couldn't make last year's great comeback win.

Like everyone has said, it was a bit wet before the game, but I don't think it rained a drop from start to finish. Always good to see a win and it was of those matches we could afford to win and knew we would anyway, so it made it easier to enjoy.

The worst game for the year was the Adelaide game. Freezing cold, raining all day but not during the game, 4:40 Sunday start.

Plus we flooded the whole game and got our first goal half way through the 3rd from Lynden Dunn if I remember correctly. Also I think Juice missed a couple of sitters. We were also in with a chance half way through the last until Tippett slotted a couple.

Anyone who went to that game was a true believer! The Freo game on the other hand was great fun. Never have I seen such a stupid thing as a bottom of a ladder team that had no real interest in winning most weeks turn up and completely dismantle a side.

You pretty much summed up that Crows game. I was at that one as well, and it was a shocker.

The crowd actually got pretty loud in the last quarter when we looked like we had a chance. Aren't we all glad we lost that game now?

Yep, I was at that game and it was probably one of the worst matches I've seen in a very long time.

It was one of the worst games I have ever seen. Third quarter, we haven't kicked a goal; and we are still a chance of a win.

Why sully my memories of the win against the Shockers and remind me of this.

I apologise.

Went to all MCG home matches this year.

The Adelaide match was possibly THE coldest VFL/AFL I can recall for a long time. And one of the more bizarre: imagine not scoring a goal for a half and the "crowd" roaring the side on as they had a red hot chance to win in the last quarter, depressing - watching a young man shred of all confidence in his paid footballing ability attempt to "banana" a shot on goal 15 m on a >45 degree angle (twice).

Actually I think it was being able to jeer Nathan Bock loudly that kept up the crowd participation, otherwise we'd have been frozen in our seats.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
