Who was at the now infamous Melb v Freo this year?

The MCC reserve holds 22,000, so I guess the answer is no.

I never realised the MCC held so many. It'd be great if we could convince them to let in the first 5000 MFC members who show up on these dismal crowd days. Could help both our bottom lines. Hell why not 10,000. MCC members wouldn't like letting in the great unwashed but it'd be for a good cause.

The worst game for the year was the Adelaide game. Freezing cold, raining all day but not during the game, 4:40 Sunday start.

I think the Dees vs Tigs game was the worst game of AFL football I have ever witnessed. I went with a mate who is a Tig's fan and we were laughing by midway through the 2nd term and in hysterics by the end. It was the least skilled game of football I have witnessed coupled with the fact we were trying to loose make it the worst game I have ever seen.

The weather was dreadful on the way to the G, but cleared up nicely for the game.

Damn staight. Basically the only time it rained (and it poured) was when I was walking from Richmond station to Gate 2. Got soaked. Then got to the ground, opened my bag for the inspection, and saw the umbrella I forgot I had...

Plus we flooded the whole game and got our first goal half way through the 3rd from Lynden Dunn if I remember correctly. Also I think Juice missed a couple of sitters. We were also in with a chance half way through the last until Tippett slotted a couple.

Agree. That game, as a match of football (Melbourne aside) was horrible. About the complete opposite of how the game should be played.

The fact that a team can be goalless until halfway throught the third quarter and still be in with a chance to win (though you have to say, if you've managed 1 goal in 3 quarters, kicking the 4 to get in front could be a tough ask) proves how unbelievably disgusting that match was.

In terms of a spectacle, that was clearly the worst game I've seen live (possibly ever). But the worst experience I've had was the Richmond game. Actually hoping McMahon would kick that goal was just sickening.

I was there both games vs Adelaide round 5 and Freo Round 20. Putting the club down if you didn`t attend. round 20, the weather was actually fine when you got there. hopefully we don`t have too many home games against interstate teams at the G.

It's Game Day and the Demons return to the MCG after a dismal performance in Gather Round to face the reigning dual Premiers Brisbane. What do expect to see from the Dees today?

  • PREVIEW: Brisbane

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.
