Will MFC surprise us tomorrow??

Recommended Posts

I have a gut feeling that Melbourne may be having a serious look at none other than..... Yes, that's right..... David Wojcinski :o

I know everyone of you will say "BS.... His name always pops up at trade time", but let's look at it seriously....

He is uncontracted.... We have been said to be trying to push someone into the PSD.... A lot of people are saying Luke Ball.... But I think his deal will be done tomorrow....

If we picked DW up for a couple of years (29yrs old) he would be able to at least fill the younger fellas with stories of how good it is to win premierships! We have lost Whelan and Wheatley.... I know they are different players, but they were both older heads in the backline.... And Cameron Schwab has recently made the point that teams need up to 12 quick blokes rotating through the midfield to be successful....

I know he wouldn't be likely to be around during our premiership window, but the lessons he could teach would be worth a lot....

Just a gut feeling that I have.....

I have not entertained the thought in past years, but for some reason this year I think it fits....

Opinions??

Or have I just lost all my cred? (If I had any) hahahaha

There's a lot of room.

HaHa.... Well one half of my brain dreams of a premiership, the other half dreams of seeing Jack Trengove play for Melbourne.... There may be room in the middle for ridiculous thoughts about over-age players who have past their used by date :P

I get the feeling that the only thing we will be trying to do is off load a couple of players and hope we can upgrade our two picks inside the top 30.

That's it. I want to see our fifth pick higher than 34, and there's plenty of scope to do that, by packaging picks, possibly with a player of delisting potential that has been talked about in the papers this week. That, coupled with Luke Ball not going to Collingwood, would make for a great trade week!

I still have a sneaking suspicion that Melbourne will do something crazy before this trade period is over....

We will know in less than 20 hours I guess....

I get a feeling we are pretty much done and dusted for trade week now, with no real word around about us at present.

HELL YEAH!

I still think Jamar will be off too Port for Pick 9. Another player to be added to the deal or exchange in draft picks.

Bell will be at Carlton for a late pick. Fourth rounder likely!

Buckley I think will find another home also. I think he might end up at a Collingwood or Essendon for some reason.

Luke Ball possibly PSD. Will he want stay at the Saints after this week? Who knows!

Wont happen now that Mumford is going to Sydney - the Cats' salary cap pressure isn't as drastic now. Had Mumford stayed, might have been a different story - not saying that Melbourne would have picked him up, but Wojo would have more than likely been delisted.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
