Dawes for Pick 18 and Simon Buckley on the move

A poster on demonology said he heaqrd the following:

Jolly to Pies

rusling or Dawes to Demons

Pia & Brad to Swans?

Any thoughts on losing Brad or Pia?

Personally dont know much about Dawes, but Rusling was meant to be the great white hope for pies, but has been decimated by shoulder injuries........cant be worse than Miller though surely?

Brad seems like an impressive person and leader, but just doesnt dominate games.

Why would Collingwood or Sydney want to include MFC in this deal?

Miller vs Dawes or Rusling, Who would you take if you were the Swans?

Saint plays hard Ball

Well another article mentioning Simon Buckley as a trade, will be interesting which clubs are interested and what they are prepared to offer.

Don't really see the point getting a 2nd or 3rd pick for a player in a weak draft for a young player who has some potential.

Wouldn't be upset if Carlton took Bell off our hands.

Miller to be offered a new deal though, looks like hes staying after all.

McLean + Bell + Buckley to Carlton for pick 11 and Pratt's bank account.

:D

What about Buckley, Bell and pick 50 to Carlscum for pick 27.

27 to Dogs for Everitt.

Picks 1,2,11 & 18 kept.

Oh, but I really wanted some new shoes....

That sounds like a fair deal, but I doubt they'll go for it.

If you believe the article posted above, we rate Buckley highly, so who knows (probably just Melbourne's PR team spinning [censored] to raise his price).

It would be ideal to keep our first four picks. It means we may not even have to bother drafting past 18, if we're looking to keep 1 PSD pick up our sleeve. This is especially true if we trade Bell, who is contracted, and free up some more space on the list.

I would imagine we will use 1, 2, 11, 18 & 34 as selections unless we trade 18 for someone like Everitt.

We have delisted 3 and traded Brock.

If the new Rookie rule allows us to keep Spencer for another year on the Rookie list that is like another pick.

If you add PSD pick 1 to 5 ND picks we need to get rid of 6 players.

Therefore we need to delist or trade 2 more players.

A trade of a couple of players like say Buckley and Bell, plus pick 34 for example, for an improved draft pick say in the low 20's, may be highly sought by some clubs.

working Buckley intoa adeal or trading separately is surely juggling come sematics ? Two teams...this for that..all the same in teh wash.

Buckley will struggle to break into our new ( bar raised ) midfield.. he could be used off of half back but there too he is johnny come lately.

Some aspects to like about him...not enough to miss him.. Trade him... do it !!

Would that be for 11 & 27 Dr? Will it also involve 34 or 50 the other way?

Hey mate,

not sure at this stage - I imagine that they would be offering something late in the draft (ala Chris Johnson).

Speaking of which - I spoke to a pretty prominent Carlton Board member (Ari Sus) on the weekend who told me that the club (more so board) classify the Chris Johnson aquisition to be a calamity.

Good on them.

If only they'd given us something for him, instead of getting him for free.

There in may be the delay ... they are offering us something we cant or wont use.

So we have to decide if we want to give Buckley away for nothing or if that pick is on tradeable?

By the way they got Chris Johnson via the PSD last year ... we got nothing for him.

We got nothing for him except a spot on the list which we used in the PSD for LJ.

We win.

Which was slightly more than he was worth.

That is more like it! I would probably persist with Newton for one more year. Offer them Miller.

I think we need to keep all of our picks. Only trade to improve them or remove list cloggers. I would only accept a player in trade for one of our list cloggers.

Whilst Miller has pretty much gone backwards the last few years, I would definitely keep him over Newton. An acceptable trade in my eyes for Newton would be a packet of TimTams and a box of Cheezels.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
