thanks for the link , my favourite part of the report

"This was due to Sturt captain Jade Sheedy, Luke Crane and AFL-bound Jack Trengove constantly hitting targets inside 50m"

Demons bound I hope

The more I see, hear or read about JT, the more I like Jordan McMahon. He could arguably go down in history as the player who did the most for the MFC without ever playing for us.

Trengove had 9 kicks, 2 marks, 10 handballs, 3 tackles and 1 goal.

Out of 21 players 6 had more possessions than him.

He's doing very well.

That's a fair effort for a half forward flanker who's just turned 18 and playing in a senior SANFL final.

Even more impressive when those kicks are constantly hitting targets.

I can't comment, I haven't seen him play live.

I reckon 19 possessions, a goal, and a few tackles and marks is the kind of game we'll see from him on a regular basis sooner rather than later.

Just thought I would throw in my opinion on the possibility of drafting JT.

Having lived here in Adelaide for the best part of the last 5 years :( I can safely say that this kid is on equal terms with Gibbs for the best draft prospect I have seen in the SANFL.

JT's skill and determination are awesome to watch live! I have a lot of close friends who are Sturt freaks and they are all saying one thing, "If you pass up on JT you are not a recruiters A-hole"

The way he throws himself into packs and puts his head over the ball at the age of 18 against fully developed men is fantastic.... Balls of steel and skills either side of his body to match.

Jack Watts, Jurrah & Co would be licking their lips at the prospect of getting the ball delivered to them off JT's boot (either boot). He runs and runs and runs all day.... Reminds me a lot of the T-1000 played by Robert Patrick in Terminator 2. The kid just won't go away!

I have sang the praises of the MFC football department over the last 3 years and I trust that they will not let this gem be selected by any other team than Melbourne! Scully and Trengove.... OMG.... The joy this will bring over the next 10 years....

Go Dees!

how exciting is the prospect of trengove!

he's playing in the SANFL Final...against men...that are close to AFL level fitness.

how many afl/ex-afl players are in that team?

give him number 5 and lets move on from u know who!

Concerns me a little that Bode has been selected on a wing in front of Trengove. All be it- may start on the ground. Looked up Foxtel-abc - believe no show here either ABC 1 &2. WILL NEED TO RELY ON ADELAIDE ASSOCIATES.

Living here in Adelaide, I will be keeping a keen eye on how he goes....

Will give you guys a run down after viewing the match

I already have my mind made up on JT, but for all those doubters, I will re-assure you how good this kid is ;)

If we pass up on him the clubs recruiters have failed IMHO..... Better than Gibbs at this level!! And I have 10+ mates (some of which play SANFL) who agree

A reminder that last year in the WAFL grand final Rich came off the bench and didn't fare particularly well at all.

Part of the reason he started dropping down the order in the eyes of the general football public.

He showed us this season exactly how accurate an indication that was of his ability to play AFL...

I wouldnt worry about the kid starting on the bench,id say thay will just start him there to let a little heat out of the game before he comes on,id say he will be on in the 1st 10 minutes though.Just a bigger game & crown so think they will ease him in.Ive seen him live & hes a gun so dont worry & everyone else in the media,ex afl players & coaches all say the same thing. just a few ex AFL players or AFL listed players playing in this game.GLENELG-Todd Grima who was at Geelong,Adam Fisher who most of us would remember,Brett Backwell from Carlton,Danny Meyer whos now on Ports list & came from Richmond,James Sellar from the Crows,Josh Willoughby who was at the Crows,Wade Mills who was at the Lions plus a few who came from the VFL.STURT-Jace Bode who we know,Toby Thurstans from Port,Ben Nelson from Carlton & a few ex VFL players

i think the site of Trengove in No. 5 and Scully in No. 9 next year will almost cause me to make a mess

in my jocks

playing in a game with guys who have been in the AFL system is a fair achivement. if he kicks goals etc...he'd be a monty for #2

Can someone at the game keep a look out for Melb recuritment managers?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
