Ok, coffee break, we're almost at the weekend and yes it's a another poll. Just thought I'd ask Demonlanders this: -

If "The Mighty Demons" were playing in the AFL Grand Final next year (of course hypothetically  ; but nevertheless possible), which team would you want The Dees to play and win the Premiership against?

So think about who you might despise the most, etc....

I have a sneaky suspicion who the most voted team may be, but I won't influence voting by alluding to the team I have in mind. Vote away....

Also, think about who you would like to see lift the Premiership Cup on the victory dias. For the sake of the exercise it must be Dean Bailey and someone.

FootNote: Hey Swamp fox, I've put in *West Sydney & *Gold Coast, just in case you complain about another poll! ;)

**Did you want me to include a Tassie Team as well? Well I did just in case the poll copped flak!

i'd take anything against anyone, but against collingwood, or another melbourne team, would be fantastic.

more supporters to rag on, especially if it was collingwood.

in hindsight, perhaps i would like to smash essendon, as pay back for 2000.

i assume some of the bit-older-than-me's would like to pay hawthorn back for the 80's as well...

The dream: smash Carlton, with Brock as captain, and Grimes winning the NSM.

The reality: I'd take a one point victory over West Sydney, with Juice as captain, and Jamar winning the NSM.

Beggers can't be choosers!

i reckon id go as far as to say that i'd even allow didak to win the NSM for collingwood, provided that we own the flag hahaha

Interesting Poll. If we get a few more votes it'll be interesting to see how it pans out.

But I'm not surprised by the results so far.

(I also love the optimism!)

would love to smash the pies then watch them cry again :)

Normally I would agree, but there is a new enemy.... CARLTANK led by JU$$. Love to see a dodgy free kick to butcher (our tanking priority pick) on the siren 10m out directly in front being 5 points down.

How good would it be! They would cry and carry on for years!

bombers........ still want revenge for 2000 - GRRRRRR. (B Moloney and Colin Sylvia to break 2 of their up and comers in half as well...... maybe hurley and ryder [ie green/simmonds] that sounds fair)

Definitely V the dorks after the siren with kick moved closer to goal from a 50m penalty

And Jimmy to catch the ball - as President - behind the goals within the cheer squad. How ironic would that be.

I have a massive and entirely irrational hatred of Richmond.

That aside, I can't believe Collingwood is in 4th place... Crazy.

I went for Hawthorn as well. The old firms Collingwood and Carlton are naturally up there but the Hawks IMO have a bit of a smugness about them as an organisation. Carlton and Collingwood I am happy with never making a GF again. :D

I voted the obvious Collingwood with little thought

I would like to change to Carlton, and make the Margin a lot.

No stress on the heart, just 3 hours of enjoyment watching us belt the living bejesus out of them.

Oooooooh and Judd to only touch the ball twice, with Watts kicking 7.

Versus Collingwood

Bailey / Grimes

Being born in the early 1950,s Collingwood is the only choice i could make

I chose Bailey to still be coach of the MFC in 5- 6 years time and by that time alot of changes will be made in the playing list

Bailey by that time should have the core of players who play together for long periods and with enough skill to carry out his gameplan

Grimes shows enough to me to show he has a bright future in the MFC midfield

He has been given leadership in under age competition which is a significant indication he is a person of quality in regards to people skills , being respected and a high work ethic

Bailey/Green against the HAWKS

Hawthorn. Initially chose collingwood, but after thinking over it, the number of cocky schoolkids bandwagoning and rubbing in their dominance during those years, nothing would be sweeter. Hawks to come out blazing like they did last weekend with silky hard attacking skill and their key forwards to give them an 8 goal buffer by half time, and for them not to drop off, but we lift our intensity and run over them by 6 goals with pure brilliance. Ahh. Optimism.

Much prefer Butcher to take a massive grab and kick a goal from 65m on the boundary to cap off a 55 point turnaround. I just don't understand why you would want to win a premeirship from a dodgy freekick. It should worry you that you think like that.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
