Sheedy's comment re Melbourne today

Recommended Posts

In today's Herald Sun, Sheedy made a comment along the lines of:

'When you get rejected by Melbourne you know it's over' in reference to not getting our coaching position.

Those grapes must have really dented his ego! Lol Sheeds.

Yeah, saw that. Have always liked Sheedy, even though I hate the bombers with a passion, so this disappointed me.

Poor form kevin. I'm sure it was tongue in cheek, but there's a sour aftertaste.

He actually said:

When Melbourne don't want to talk to you, that's about the end of it.

Maybe Melbourne did me a favour not letting me win a wooden spoon or two.

Fair call, we were a basket case then, and our win loss record hasn't improved.

I would think (or at least hope) that anyone from the MFC discussing Sheedy in regard to coaching Melbourne did so as a joke.

He was in the first round of interviewees. I understand he did not impress as much as others for the role.

As for sour grapes he should line up behind Tony Liberatore!

That's what I thought too. A light-hearted dig at himself more than anything.

Sheedy doesn't like Melbourne. A few years back when the Roos looked to be heading North he penned an article about their "shinboner spirit" In the article he found room to praise Richmond's and the Doggies spirit as well. Then he commented on Melbourne, stating that we had nothing to offer and lacked any spirit. It really [censored] me off. watching him over the last year or so makes me laugh. He's a walking embarrasment. His rants no longer hold any substance and his opinion is rarely sort. as for his alignment with richmond, They can have him, he fits right in!

True, but totally at our expense... Shows a lack of respect for the club... I don't like it...

And correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Sheeds was in the final 5 candidates, along with Riley, Hardwick, Connolly and of course Bailey...

Sorry but this is a "ex-champion" that is losing creditability fast. Lets not forget just 9 weeks ago he was massively hyping- "challenging" the Tigers they "Can WIN the Flag." Look at the outcome ... unneeded pressure that has 110% backfired on the Tigers. (Irrespective of what BS spin they want to make up)

The game has past him by according to the Bombers ... Essendon new it ... Sheedy was just last to work it out.

Yet who does he want to take it out on .... ahhhhhh .... let me guess an easy target. (Poor Poor Form.) However, he has worked out never bite the hand that feeds you.

If he has a bone to pick with the Bombers .... done involve us.

Just goes to prove ... when you live, work, eat and breathe in a glass bowl ... you might just start acting like a "goldfish"

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res
