So hard this week!

6- Miller

5- Davey

4- McLean

3- Martin

2- Frawley (had one shocking handball, so he loses a point :P)

1- Jones

Apologies to pretty much everyone else on our list.

Dunn did a great shut-down job, Sylvia had one great quarter, Newton made me want to throw a shoe at him but he took some ripper marks, Bennell and Jetta had their moments, Rivers was great as always, Morton and Beamer worked super hard and broke the lines well, and OUR RUCKMEN actually stood up and contributed. Well done to PJ for bouncing back, and Meesen for proving he isn't the biggest trading mistake we've ever made (I'm looking at your Heffernan! :D)

We should also make special mention of Warnock who, granted conceded 4 goals (plus the usual 5 behinds from Richo), but fought extremely hard and never dropped his head.

Richo customarily rips us a new one, and without much help until the last quarter (when PJ floated in), I thought Warnock did really well to stop one of the best one-on-one markers in the competition.

He's had two tough weeks, but he's stuck to the task and just kept going. Deserves some kudos for that!

I hate to pot someone in a win, but Bartram is a liability to us when he has the ball in his hands. Poor decsion making and disposal. I get that nervous feeling in my gut everytime he gets the pill in his hands.

I agree. Jones was outstanding IMO. I can't believe more people don't have him in their votes.

Agreed. He makes terrible decisions under pressure, and his disposal is bad both by hand and foot.

On the upside he is very quick and a good shut-down player.

Still, drop him and bring in Grimes.

(And Maric in for Greeny)

Can't believe you did not have Bruce and Jones in your votes but I guess I should not be too surprised with your bias. What compounds it is that you gave Sylvia 4 votes and McLean 2 votes. Sylvia had a brilliant 2nd quarter but he almost lost the game for us in the last quarter with a few attempts to make himself a hero rather than do the team thing and pass the ball to an open teammate. For the record my votes are:

6: Jones

5: Martin

4: Bruce

3: Miller

2: Davey

1: Frawley

Have a look over thread and see how many people gave Bruce votes.

You and one other person.

Wow, what a game, many great contributors today, so it was pretty hard to split for me, but here goes:

I thought Petterd, McLean, Morton and Sylvia were also tops. Just shows how well we go when everyone plays a good game!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
