Can we have our first win next week? I give us a slight chance. Apart from when we play freo at the mcg later on this season this could be our only other chance. If our mid field can get on top and our fowards kick goals hopefully we can win. I'd keep Meesen in for next week. I know he got beaten around the ground but he actually won some taps and hit them down to our midfielders. Just not sure who to put on Riho. Maybe Warnock when he plays foward and Bruce when he runs around the ground. Next week should be interesting.

Geelong are a top team, but Carlton aren't ;)

I think we can beat the tigers as long as we can take Richo out of the contest which we partially did last time (even though we lost by 80 points).

The Dees will be back at the G and ready to fire

Yes.

Will be an interesting game. I think we will know more after their game vs the Dogs tomorrow. If they win or are competitive, they are probably turning the corner. If the Dogs play with them, it could be a fun day next week!

If we had a fit (or match fit) , Grimes, Garland, Robbo, Wona, Maric, Whelan, Junior, Wheatley, Jamar, Buckley and Jesus Watts available then we can beat Richmond and anyone else in fact...

Even with those players out ..i still give us a chance as we are a better team this year, even though the scoreboard says otherwise.

Like most games I just can't see us kicking a winning score. Who is capable of kicking a bag? Green? Miller? Sylvia?

Out of those 3. Easy question. Brad Green. Miller and Sylvia play forward more than Green and Green still kicks more goals than them both combined. We can kick a winning score. It`s just got to be our day. Remember Round 7 2008

Melbourne 17.17 (119)

Fremantle 15.23 (113)

Goals:Wonaeamirri,Robertson 4,Davey,Miller 3,Green 2,Moloney.

and against Essendon Round 18 2008 (we didnt win but that can be a winning score sometimes)

Essendon 19.10 (124)

Melbourne 17.6 (108)

Goals: Morton,Sylvia 3,Maric,Bate 2,Bartam,Green,Buckley,Davey,P.Johnson,Jamar,Wonaeamirri.

I doubt it. But if we're going to win only one for the season than it would be great if it were against Richmond (or Collingwood who I know we lost against). I know Richmond supporters would absolutely hate it. If I wasn't working I'd love to be there on the off chance that the Dees get up must to hear what some of the Richmond supporters would have to say. I was there at a game at the G several years ago at a Melbourne v Richmond match. There was this one guy who yelled out "come on. You're better than these silver spooners!" It would be great to hear that sort of vitriol whilst seeing the Dees beat Richmond. The thing that would make it more annoying for guys like that is that they know that, unfortunately for us, Melbourne probably isn't going to win many this year. And for one our wins to be against them would make it even more annoying for them. I can just imagine the calls to Sports Today with Richmond supporters bagging their own players and maybe even calling for their coach to be sacked (poor guy-nothing against the club itself but coaching Richmond's a tough gig with the hatred directed at their coach whenever they have a losing streak). The win would be worth it just to hear the Richmond supporters calling up the radio.

huge chance . they will have an interim coach by then, young forwards, like us lack ruck depth, tag deledio. chipper to play on n.brown. and have no loose men, they crumble under pressure. make everyone accountable. dont get sucked in to tempo footy. thats all wallace will have left come next sunday. if they loose to us wallace will be sacked during the next week. bring it on.

When Robertson comes back we are definitley capable of kicking a winning score. I thought 14.6 90 was a good effort in the end today goalwise. Better than 10.7 against North and 10.4 against Collingwood.

in total we have kicked 34.17 for the year- which is good accuracy. Not enough goals but still accurate.

But compare it to the opening three rounds of 2008 where we kicked 27.36 in total. We have obviously improved our kicking skills and set shot kicking by a lot and I have seen that in the first three games from people like Miller and especially Green.

The main problem with our forward line is positioning.

if we kick more goals than the tigers and are in front at the end of the game.. then yes, i think we can win..

Also, it might help if our players grow a football brain during the week.. seriously dumb footballers we have, that if were smarter would be better players..

2 cents.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
