During a brief 'grab' on SEN this morning , our esteemed coach was quoted as saying that Johnson and SPENCER had been playing reasonable football , but both needed to step up today .

Does he know that one of them isn't playing ?

They both are playing reasonable footy. I thought Spencer's first two games were quite impressive, I think Bailey's resting Spencer, and giving Meesen a shot due to the fact he hasn't played yet.

I think spencer did alright in his first two games, still a rookie. Takes a while for ruckmen to develop. It`s great that Meeson is getting a go. Finally gets to show us what hes like. Hope he does alright.

Casey are playing today as well, maybe he expects Spencer to step up for Casey.

Well all I can say is that we better have some more improvement and the MFC better get some wins on the board otherwise Dean Bailey will be lucky to last his full contract.

Does anybody know what Dean Bailey's game plan is yet....???

Give him a go - at least to half way. I can barely bring myself to say it but AAAGH what about BUCKLEY. His comments and reading of the game seem outstanding!! <_<

It'd explain why Weetra played AFL at the start of last year.

I attended some pre-season games in '08 and was certain DB had confused Wonna with Weetra.

Buckley will want $1m a year to coach and we don't have a spare Mill.

What about Simon Buckley. Hell of a lot cheaper and would encourage his players to run and take the game on, something a lot of people here want. Besides, Nathan wouldn't be caught dead coaching us. But that's okay, because I wouldn't be caught dead supporting a team that had anything to do with that [censored].

P.S. have you taken a look at that guy's nose. WTF is up with that?

starting to agree, was a big supporter but am dropping off after the first 3 efforts for the year. He does not seem to be able to motivate the boys for 4 quarters, on thin ice, Jimmy won't get rid of him though

On thin ice eh? He's barely into the second season of what I'm sure the power-brokers at Melbourne see as a five year plan. Cut him some slack.

He's currently fielding a team that will be radically revised in the next three years. He's trying new players, experimenting with positions, waiting on some gun draft picks to pull on the jumper and determining who of our middle tier players have the mustard to cut it.

And exactly who would you get rid of him for? You can 'drop off' all you like right now and good riddance.

A short-sighted and ignorant post.

I will give Dean Bailey the benefit of the doubt. I realise it will take a very long time to improve....I just get frustrated and angry after a big loss (as I'm sure we all do!).

I just would like the Demons to remain "competitive" throughout the entire game and at least WIN a few matches during the year!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
