Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Choose carefully people. I'm still undecided too mousey. Ask yourself, when the players put their strips on "what will they feel good in?"

Earlier poster was right, we need the players to model these options IMO.

No need to call me pathetic. After being a member for nearly 30 years, I am appalled that we find ourselves in this position as a football club - maybe that is why you see me as a nelly naysayer. However, I am quite positive that onfield we are on the right track. I like the route Dean Bailey is taking. I have issues with the off field stuff.

My point is, that as a member we should be voting for the jumper rather than moronic Collingwood, Essendon and Richmond supporters logging on and choosing our jumper. We also shouldn't allow Melbourne supporters who do not have a membership the right to vote. Buy a membership and then get the 'right' to vote on issues relating to your club.

As it stands, this idiot (Idiot crys for Eamon and Steph) on the dole who forked out $300 to see two swimmers can have a vote on the MFC Away strip. How does that make you feel as a Melbourne member?

By the way, option A is horrible.

Melbourne supporters can have a say. Not just members. There would be fewer than 1% of opposition supporters even contemplating on clicking on our site IMO.

I am a long-time member too, and I would like supporters who aren't members to have a say, they might like having a say and want to join as a result anyway.

As for the idiot, I seriously doubt he/she would be even the slightest bit interested in even contemplating a choice between two MFC strips! Let alone wanting to find the Mfc site and clicking on it. They wouldn't give a stuff!

I think it should be a "privilege" of being a MFC member. If it is going to take someone the opportunity to vote on a jumper to help the struggling club than they are even more pathetic than the $300 idiot.

Mousey... mate.

Too many have forgotten that we are the oldest team in the land, that we are the club where it all started.

Even our own supporters are saying that Option B looks like Carltons jumper, when it is theirs that looks like ours.

Doesn't that stir you up?

So when Option B is chosen and people make that mistake, wont you take great pleasure in telling them that OUR logo was the first of it's kind in the competition?

Option B mate, hands down.

Agree. What about the future that lies ahead down at Casey? MFC's future, should people who are supporters but not members down there have a say?

I agree with Joe Rugolo, and his brother Frank, why should we allow Collingwood supporters the ability to vote on this? If they were to present two strips, one black and white stripes, sorry I mean white on black stripes, and the other a monstrosity with a clown on it, I know I'd take great delight in voting for the clown strip to watch them running out in it next year. So too would every Carlton, Richmond, Essendon etc fan...

The only real clash's we have are with Essendon and Freo for mine.

I actually like them both, some of you are being incredibly picky, get over yourselves.

I like option B's tradition but lets be honest it looks exactly the same as Carltons. However A looks similar to the Dogs. Tough one, im happy with either to be honest, both look pretty good in my opinion. Don't know what everyones problem with white is, it's only every once in a while.

the fork well said my man!!

OPTION B for sure!!

i cant believe it is even being discussed

i bet the younger ones are voting A

See right there!!! Thats the thing is making me torn.

I agree with you Fork mate!

But with what the person said above " I bet the younger ones are voting A"

Is it not one of our very important tasks to get more younger generation interested in our footy club? Doesnt option A do that?

I totally agree with all points of views here but it is a harder choice than people think when you factor in what is best for the club when trying to attract the younger generation?

The argument of who can and who cant will require those wishing to limit to also indicate how you police all this ..and still get a result ..any meaningful result..in a workable time. Look..you go fishing you always get crap in the net.. for us it may be some filth !! lol

For those wishing to restrict everythig to members.. maybe your shooting the club inteh foot. Often a way to get peoepl on board is to first give then some measure of participation etc.. Give a supporter ( even non-ones )a chance to be involved might just be a catalyst to get hem thinkng...hey I might just buy my membership next year etc.

We need members ..and evern general acceptance and the goodwill of the football public.. so ..hey..lets involve them...they might just like us !! :)...we cant afford to be to precious as to alienate people..

This is NEW MELBOURNE...a club for ALL MELBOURNIANS !!!! ;)

Demons32 - Some sense to the forum for once.

It shouldn't really matter if it looks similar to Carlton's. It's part of tradition. We wouldn't be playing Carlton in their clash jumper with our clash jumper.

Re: Once in a while - it should only be worn against Essendon and maybe Freo home games IMO.

IMO Carlton and Melbourne games should wear their traditional jumpers.

Ruined my day seeing these 2 designs, looks like as long as the AFL are handing out money we will bend over for them.

I'm going option 1 though, bring back the demon. Option 2 looks too much like a rip off Carlton guernsey. Don't worry if you think it's outdated, it'll be gone in 2 years when the AFL decides Melbourne must introduce all the colours of the rainbow into their clash guernsey.

This is a great way to kill off our brand even more, no wonder we are insignificant to the rest of the league.

Surely the red jumper we had a few years back was enough evidence that it solved any clash problems.

Look mate, on the post just above you, Demon32 making the exact same mistake that I have just spoken about, and he/she goes for the Dees!

CARLTONS logo looks like OURS!!!

We are always batting on about how we deserve a bit of respect, its time WE started respecting ourselves.

I agree mousey the Demon can play a role in bringing younger supporters to the club, I just don't think that our clash jumper is the place to do it. I think it's an opportunity to impress that new things may happen in footy (like having to submit to wearing clash jumpers) but we have been here forever and we're not going anywhere.

Well, I like the one on the right, the one with the MFC monogram. The Demon logos give me the sh1ts as they all look like they've been designed by the 12 year old children of ad-agency executives.

Meanwhile.

There have been 175 votes and it's tied 50% to 50%.

Update! Spot on, Demonologist.

Fair enough mate i agree with you!

Thanks for the guidance.

Good work to Jimmy and the MFC also for giving the public a choice also.

VOTE B!

Option A is horrible, truly horrible. It looks like an amature under 12's jumper.

I still think they should have enlisted supporters to DESIGN the jumper, not just vote. I've seen some great jumpers designed by our supporters, and I know a few fashion design students who happen to barrack for Melbourne who would happily have tried to come up with some designs *cough* :P

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
