Jones Mclean Rivers Watts Morton Bruce Green. Who won't be future captain?

Add to that Grimes and Miller, and our leadership stocks suddenly don't to bad.

Cale really ought to get nominated this week; if he doesn't there's something wrong with the process. He's clearly had a better year than half the other nominees so far in 2008.

And next week I would nominate Addam Maric. The speed with which he moves onto the footy, the precision with which he hits teammates, the way he finds space, the cleanness of his hands - they are all similar to Cotchin.

Craig Cameron must be spitting chips he didn't hide Maric from the Demons last November.

Godemons, better to save him until next year's nominations. He might be a chance to win it. We could have quite a few up for nomination next year.

I hope so!

You can get nominated in two seasons, so he could still be eligible next season, despite being nominated this year.

cale morton had 87% kicking effeincy while maric had 100%! both guns and i thought cales disposal was spot on! maric did not miss a target!

Yes. What is it again? Is it you have to be younger than 21 years of age and played fewer than 10 games before the commencement of the season to be eligible?

If that is the case next year we will have: -

Addam Maric

Jack Grimes

Tom MacNamara

Kyle Cheney

Maybe Jake Spencer

and this years draft pick selections all eligible (4-5)

Petterd will still be eligible under those parameters then won't he?

You can be nominated twice as long as you have played under 10 games heading into the 2nd year. Jones got nominated in 2006 and 2007.

If Maric plays a couple of blinders next 2 weeks and somehow gets nominated, then he will also be eligible next year.

Not obsessed with the rising star are we?

Would you prefer I didn't take time out of my busy day to compile this list for the benefit of demonlanders. Would you prefer I deal in rumours and opinions exclusively, instead of indisputable facts? I say more of this kind of well researched analysis and less biased opinion. Don’t bring down the list Dappa.

Great stats b42L. So you're counting Brent Moloney for us. Not doubling up in Geelongs quota I hope? Is Steven Armstrong on West Coasts list?

Well done Cale, you should have been nominated for this months ago!

Moloney is the only player i know of that won a rising star and was traded. I didn't count him on Geelong's list, and I put him on our list.

Armstrong isn't on either list, From memory he won it in 2002. I have only counted since 2004.

I just had a look at the 2002 and 2003 rising stars. Hawks and Geelong feature heavily... you could argue that their current form is due largely to these nominated players hitting an optimum age. Project our nominated players forward a few years.... :P . you get the idea.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE
