Ashley Hansen

Has anyone else noticed that the WCE seem to have fallen out of love with him?? I think he would be worth the punt to get back to Victoria. He's young and strong and would give us a CHF for 8-9 years? Thoughts??

He'd give us HALF a CHF for 8-9 years...

If he's traded, it'll be for a reason. A guy in his early twenties that can't get a gig in THAT forward line?

No thanks. I'd rather stick with the mythical Juice...

There's a reason he hasn't been able to get a game this year... his hamstrings are shot... there's an article on the AFL website. Very little trade value unless they can find a solution.

WCE do not have a forwardline, lets be honest (just a refresher, Steven Armstrong is a pocket over there, enough said!)

Hansen was capable. WAS capable. He is not an option for us. If a forward cannot get a game in the WCE forwardline, then they will struggle to get a game anywhere else. I remember similar words said about Mc Dougall when he was up for offer, and look what he has done for the doggies...roster filler!

No thanks!

Thing is everyone (should) know Hansen can play.

Just has a pair of dodgy hamstrings

Every time he plays.... they win. If he misses.....they lose.

He plays just like Brad Miller. He presents over and over again. Brad plays well....we tend to play better. Perhaps the leading CHF has taken over the importance of the ruckman in pre-2000 footy.

We could do worse, but can't give anything of value away for him.

40 - 50 pick at the most.

And he did barrack for the Dees.

The again, so did Chris Judd...

I rate Brad Miller more than this bloke. At least miller gets his hands dirty. Hansen had some of the greatest midfielders in the past two decades making him look like a star. Know he's up s&%t creek becasue its all dried up. Wouldn't even give a fourth round pick for him our waste room in the salary cap.

Forget the Gold Coast or Western Sydney, I reckon the AFL should start up a team called the Once Were AllStars. They could be nomadic and their recruiting and drafting brief would be to punt on all the injury-prone, high draft pick or once-spruiked players that other clubs have let go. The money they saved on drafting and the salary cap could go towards low membership rates and cheap ground entry. They could get sponsorship from business like The Reject Shop, The $2 Shop or Best and Less.

All the supporters who think there might be value in drafting 'bargain' players that were once promising but didn't come up with the goods could switch allegiance and live in hopeful and joyous anticipation but ultimate disappointment for the rest of their lives.

Hansen is in the WCE leadership group. They rate him highly, he'd be in the side if fit.

Mitchell Brown might be worth a punt. Out with a knee this year but might be keen to come home. Could be our answer at CHB.

Was thinking the same thing Gouga. The problem is with how well his twin brother has gone they would be loathe to let him go. I also know a few people connected with the club and rest assured the club are absolutley fantastic with looking after their kids.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
