Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

A very well written piece about all this by an Aboriginal. My thoughts on all this mirror those of this Aboriginals thoughts. Is he being racist I wonder.

Even though i think many in this affair are over reacting, I have to agree with the poster who said that, at some stage, you have no right to decide if comments/booing or whatever, are offensive. The person on the end of it is the one who decides how he feels about it, and in Goodes case, he has decided that its racist.

Even though I think he is thin skinned, he is the one copping the boos, or abuse from over the fence, so I guess he is in a better position than I, to decide if its racist or not.

I think people can exacerbate an issue by complaining about it, but if all of the players from oppo teams think they should take a stand, then there is probably something to it Munga.

I think the booing should stop because of the bullying overtone it has become just recently. My beef is with the media labelling all and sundry racist. Ive never liked Goodes but it is obviously affecting him so on that point it now is bullying.

I won't boo Goodes because this has become sensitive for him, but don't tell me what i am thinking

I too have an issue with the clowns labelling everyone who boos as racist.

Let's award Sydney the four points if anyone boos Goodes during a game. That will certainly put an end to it. Perhaps a notice on the scoreboard that you're not allowed to boo him. The message to not smoke inside the MCG has definitely stopped people from smoking there.

Nah, let's just throw eggs at the those who boo. That is the solution proposed by the AFL players association.

No wonder the great game of AFL has down the toilet. We need new leaders, simple as that. Vlad was a dismal failure and Gil is worse.

They guys simply cannot handle issues. They bungled the drug saga, now they are bungling every issue that crops up.

I think Gill is a mess but to be fair the Phil Walsh situation was handled well. Other than that....

Are we allowed to "boo" Richmond because we don't like them or is that not allowed anymore?

Brilliant plan Pineapple. Just a tiny flaw - the Sydney supporter who puts on an opposition jumper and hurls abuse, thereby ensuring a top two Sydney finish. Or if he plays on next year, they go through the season, including GF, undefeated. But as I say, apart from that incredibly minor problem, genius.

Throwing eggs is common assault,so thats not such a good idea. Though it is in a football context so we'll let it go.

No problem there. It fits nicely with the AFL narrative which puts Sydney in contention and hopefully winning another flag. Refer Barry Hall not guilty decision after belting Maguire in the prelim final, No bizarre decision is beyond these people.

They are wearing an Indigenous strip, so no. I will have to egg you.

As long as we can fight back green street hooligan style that's OK.

How far does this have to go, does anyone care about color anymore?

I’m against the Dees wearing indigenous armbands in support of Goodes.

I’m FOR the Dees wearing indigenous armbands in support of indigenous people (of whom Goodes is just one member).

how about throwing pineapples then? :)

Listen Daisy, there's only one Pineapple advocating nonsensical solutions here. Stick to what you do best.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
