I dont post much. You have incorrectly replied or taken out of context my last 2 posts. Please refrain. I dont need you to "stick up" for the club on any of my observations. I don't rate your reports and its is not that you disagree with my posts, it is that you make out I said something I didn't. For the record,i) I didn't bag Garlett although I was ignoring you, ii)I am quite sure the players I have referred to are experiencing an interrupted preseason (your inability to notice this is a giveaway to your knowledge) and iii) I made no reference at all to 1st year players. And if you are going to reply again please dont bloke me. Bloke is not a pronoun.3 points

I put the list in alphabetical order for easier reference. Not included in the list but referred to in recent training reports as being in the “rehab” group are Angus Brayshaw, Mitch Hannan, Jayden Hunt and Aaron vandenBerg who I presume weren’t considered by the reporter as being injured enough to make the list. The disconcerting thing from my perspective is the par on Jake Lever. Before his latest setback, I thought he would be right to go early in the season but that’s now a “mid-year return”.1 point

And based on the article from afl.com.au MFC End of 2018 Injury List Oskar Baker: Suffered a recurrence of a hamstring injury in September and the Demons are ensuring he has enough conditioning under his belt before starting him in full training. James Harmes: Another to undergo post-season shoulder surgery. Harmes is running but won't be in contact drills until after Christmas. Marty Hore: The mature-age draftee had an ankle operation before he was picked by the Demons with pick No.56 in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft. He and Melksham have been running laps together. Neville Jetta: The defender had shoulder surgery in the off-season. Running laps, but won't join in contact work until after Christmas. Jake Lever: Underwent more surgery on Wednesday after scar tissue around his reconstructed left knee left him in discomfort. Had started running before the setback and is hoping for a mid-year return. Oscar McDonald: The key defender had a post-season arthroscope on his hip and therefore has been on a modified programme. Jake Melksham: Melksham had an arthroscope on his ankle at the end of the season and as a result has been in rehab as he builds up his training load slowly. Clayton Oliver: Had surgery on both of his shoulders and, like many others, won't get into work with the main group until after Christmas. Running and moving well in rehab. Christian Petracca: Went in for a knee operation at the end of the year and as a result is in the rehab group. Running laps, but won't resume contact work until after getting back from the Christmas break. Tim Smith: Coming back from a stress fracture in his foot. Smith is running laps and will be eased slowly back in to training. Billy Stretch: Running laps at decent speed after having surgery on a stress fracture in his toe in July. Will build his training conservatively. Jack Viney: Had surgery on his troublesome foot at the end of the season and is on a modified program. Will look to build his training post-Christmas.1 point

C'mon A in E, the Eagles won the flag in 2006 finished third in 2007 and then raced to second bottom to secure 1 Nic Nat in 2008. They tanked that year mate.1 point

Agreed. Casey is full of mid sized utility types. Rawlings will need to push to get a quality ruck into his squad. Dees also need some more depth in key forward position and work with Casey to see if any could be developed for future drafting. Maybe youngsters like Haydn McLean, Josh Smith, Riley Bowman or Hudson Garoni will be looked at by Casey.1 point

Training hard in hot weather leading to involuntary ejaculations of the contents of the stomach through the mouth was a old timers standard measure of effort and determination. Think RDB at kangas in the 70s. In reality, it was a sign of ignorance about the need for constant hydration during exercise. All those "drink carriers" during the match are a response to modern understanding of hydration. Even cricket has adopted this regime with drink eskis strategically placed around the boundaries to hydrate fast bowlers. That Spargo went too far is a fault of the club for not monitoring his efforts. Let's hope it doesn't happen again.1 point

Casey aiming for 15 in the squad. That makes 60 players all up including MFC list. James Freeman Tom Freeman Mitch Gent Mitch Lewis Jay Lockhart Corey Machaya James Munro Corey Stockdale Mitch White Add returning Luke Tynan. Likely another ex AFL player being announced shortly. Plus add 4-5 youngsters.1 point

Just check out the below link: http://m.hawthornfc.com.au/news/2018-11-21/our-list-by-the-numbers I count 8, possibly 9 of their best 22 will be 30 or over sometime in the next 12 months, then there is also a fare bunch of them sitting in the age group just below that Luke Breust (28), Liam Shiels (27), Jack Gunston (27), David Mirra (27) ,Jonathan Ceglar (27). Even $cully is 27 these days, with a pretty clapped out body. No wonder they were so keen to off load Mitchell, Hodge and Lewis, they are facing a playing list armageddon. When you look at the list of players they have (or don't have) comming through, the cupboard looks pretty bare for the Hawks and makes it look even more strange trading Burton for Wingard. Talking to a Hawks supporter I know the other day, he was quite disappointed by loosing Burton, because he though that was a player they could build their backline around. Addmitedly, not all the Hawks over 30s will retire at the end of this season, but their output will certainly start to wane and it's hard to see any of them being there any more that another two or three years. This will really test the mastermind Clarkson - I think they are in for a long hard road to rebuild as they will not have much to trade their way back into the game with other clubs and I just hope that free agency doesn't become their savior either.1 point

Look at the filths use of Cox at CHF. They just kicked under 12 marking practice drop punts to him. The 'new' marking rules, no blocking, arm chopping, mean he was unbeatable. Even 196 cm backs can't get a fist to the ball. Next year Danahier will kick 50 goals plus and is the reason Essendon are rated for 2019. I reckon our cunning plan for 2019 is to play Max in the Cox role. Who will kick Hogans 40 plus goals next year? Max. Preuss to do a lot of rucking, Max gets to be a key forward and extend his life. Height and weight is critical. Let's see the Weid with the build of the OX or Neita. He has been eating up and doing weights so bring on next year.1 point

For families, Sunday 4.40pm and night games are a stinker. Also for country folk who have a long journey home by car or rail. Oh, I forgot, the scheduling is for TV, streaming and those sports fans with their wide screen, high definition, radiation emitting screens.1 point

Oskar Baker - did 2 hammies in the back end of last year, probably just a slow build up Angus Brayshaw - was in the main group last week but called for the physios a couple of times Mitch Hannan - think he's had knee problems in both years, had an op James Harmes - had a shoulder op, seems to be fine Marty Hore - unsure, but is doing a fair bit in rehab, paired up with Melk Jayden Hunt - had shoulder surgery, doing a fair bit on the track Neville Jetta - had knee and shoulder procedures Jake Lever - knee taking it's time according to Stevo's tweet Oscar McDonald - unsure? Jake Melksham - probably just the ankle he carried in the back end of last year, doing plenty Clayton Oliver - legs look good, obviously hasn't done upper body weights for a while Christian Petracca - had a knee op Tim Smith - unsure Billy Stretch - coming back from stress fracture Aaron vandenBerg - had a shoulder op, out running Jack Viney - had an ankle procedure, doing laps, I expect they'll take him slowly It's a long list and it's way too talented! Lever due to it being a long term injury and Vanders and Viney with their injury histories are the guys I'm worried about. Just a rough guess but I think Baker, Brayshaw, Hore, Hunt, Melksham should be good to go soon based on them doing more ball work from what I saw. Clarry seems fine, will just be a matter of when he can resume contact drills. Jetta and Petracca seem paired up and looked ok. It's not panic stations now but I think we need to have the list back in single figures asap after Christmas and have as many of these guys right to go for the preseason games. If they haven't done enough training to play in the preseason then they're likely playing catch up during the regular season which is a risk of further injuries.1 point

Jake Lever is the only player who would be in doubt for a round 1 start. Injuries (lack of) will be critical to a 2019 premiership opportunity. We need our stars to stay fit. That’s why Preuss was brought in. We need a fit Maxy G come September.1 point

30,096 a 8% increase on Nov 30, 2017. I wouldn't be surprised to see this rise substantially before Christmas - we have already exceeded last year's Christmas Eve total. We are on the way to reach 50,000!1 point

It's not interrupted, most are running, it is just contact and match sim they are missing, they are all doing a bit of craft work Crossy and the rest have rehab down pat now, as per Viney last year Is it not 1st year players either, most have had a couple of pre seasons under their belt, expect most to be ready to go post Xmas Maybe only Lever and Tim Smith (foot injury) the only 2 delayed0 points

Alternatively, the rediscovery of the joys of 'cherry picking' do loom against Whoreform in many ways with so many out of contract. Again, you'd reckon that we got in early and got one of the best - big, ripe and ready - in football superlative terms - in the Hawks gerontological array of players - in Jordan the Lewis. It is still proving that somewhat, Whoreform picked the wrong one to clear at the time.0 points
