No change to the forward line duo where IMO we lost the game last week.

How long do we wait for real change?

Make the call Bailey. Make the call.

Unfortunately 'Franky_31',, I'm with you, I'd love to see Robbo down @ the Zebs where we could be upclose @ personal @ give him some Indian curry from the fence when he refuses to do the 1%s. As yet there's no one who deserves his spot. Newton is BLUDGING A I'm gunna start getting on his case, 'cause I don't wanna see him waste his career.

galand out...good

whelan in...good

pj out...bad and jamar in bad...had to happen though

i too hope that brad miller will be in the forward line

the thing is, DB is not going to drop a russell robertson, it just wont happen, you can just tell

i hope neitz plays a different role this week

CJ has potential to be great with DB's game plan so he is worth persisting with while we have him

He was definitely injured, he had a bad corky that kept re-bleeding but he told me he was probably right to smash the roos this week

He trained last night, wednesday evening, & he moved well, but has lost his touch & feel & needs a game or 2 @ the Zebs before he'll be ready. Judging by the way they held Wheels back I'd sday Bate will be @ least 2 away.

'Franky_31', I actually forgot about Bate, I know its been suggested by some @ I agreewith them, I think he could play the lead from the square & mark role. A possible replacement for Robbo if he doesn't lift his workrate.

Possible match ups

Wheatley on Jones

Carrol on Thompson

Bell on Edwards

Rivers floating or on Petrie if Forward or Jones if Wheatley doesn't work

Jmac, Bruce or Bartram on Harvey

Miller at CHF

Wheatley is not accountable enough and has been effective as the loose man. Bruce is more likely to take Jones.

He dropped Yze, why not Robbo?

i hope neitz plays a different role this week

With Brown, Petrie and Thompson all in the side Neitz might find himself back.

Not sure about great but agree he should be persisted with.

Yep, as good a side on paper all year,

Cmon demons, you got me screaming, got me standing on the edge of my seat.. Anyone remeber that Classic.

I beleive we can win this weekend...

Ha! I own that on tape. It is so much better than our actual theme song.

Be absolutely stunned if Miller isn't at CHF.

Don't mind those changes, they were the straight forward ones.

Bate back next week hopefully.

well the media asked him what he thought of Robbo's game in the post match media conference, and he said he was happy with his game, moved up the ground to help his team mates out... so you're right, he's not going to drop him anytime soon, and i agree with him, if we're playing well Robbo will be important...

on the changes, 2 good changes... one obviously forced which was unfortunate...

I don't know why many posters here call for Moloney to come back in, he is not that good, he has to earn his recall through Sandy a fit Moloney IMO is not an automatic inclusion. I have posted this before IMO I don't believe all Mclean, Jones, Mcdonald and Moloney can play in the same 22, we need some speed the complement the hard work in close these players do.

exactly...i mean i dont have a an opinion on whether robbo should play anymore because i always come out and say hes crap and he kicks 7 goals and then i compliment him, and he plays badly

but the thing is, i know it sounds bad but russell robertson is very loyal to his coaches and went to a lot of effort for both ND and riley...when the bulldogs offered him a lucrative 3 year deal, he stayed with his 2 year deal at melbourne which probably wasnt as lucrative...he is also in the leadership group and he on a singing show that is good for the club, if he was dropped it would be a pretty big deal and its not worth it because he tries his hard (even though people will [censored] about him not doing the one percenters and taking show pony marks) and the coach likes him, so i just cannot see how he will get dropped, that is all, so if i was one of you people that want him to get dropped, i wouldnt have your hopes up..

Robbo and Sylvia are lucky, but huge changes won't start happening until Round 7.

Bailey and Connolly both said that they are giving all players 6 rounds before they start putting a line through their name.

Just goes to show that Yze is finished. Wasn't given the same treatment as the rest of the senior group.

Lucky for him he had a contract for 2008, because he would be well into retirement otherwise.

They would take Bruce to the goalsquare though and I don't think that would suit us. I'd rather Rivers on him if he's in the goalsqaure and Bruce further up the ground.

Whelan is a good inclusion particularly against Nth with Shaggers and Beama on the forward line. Was apparently in sparkling form for Sandy last weekend also.

As for Jamar lets hope he takes a couple of strong marks in the goal square because its unlikely he will do much more.

might have been a good time to bring in Meeson, Jamar is rubbish

Definitely - Bater would have been a great inclusion in place of CJ, who is crap.

l disagree, CJ is not crap, Miller and Jamar are though

I am not a wrap for Bate any more. I accept others disagree.

I was at training and he looks like a ranga Nick Stevens.

He needs to do a Gary Ablett Jr and lose the puppy fat.

He also sticks the lip out and I believe he is borderline and could go on to be a star or just be another player that wont get dropped like Paul Wheatley.

He suffers from too many pats on the back and not enough runs on the board.

I wont describe him as another "Culture Culprit" like IMO Sylvia and Green has become, but a work in progress.

I hope my fears are unfounded

Right now I much prefer an honest Miller to an uncommitted Bate.

I wouldn't be too concerned about Bate's apparent lack of interest, he's looked like that ever since I've known him (3 or 4 years). Vaguely recall his "lazy" appearance being brought up by a recruiter who wrote an article in the sun, comparing him to Dal Santo who doesn't look like he's trying even if he is

The fact that he looks like Harpo Marx is not his fault. He was born like that. I just want him in the team ASAP.

Whelan back, You beauty..........

Hope his long stint away with injury wont hinder him too much... At last a decent small defender to put on the weasles..

Rivers, Bell, Whelan... Starting to look ok.. Bring on Spud Frawley

Happy with Whelan for Garland, but disappointing we were forced to make a ruck change.

As a couple of people have mentioned, it helps that Hale is out.

He also sticks the lip out

What's that mean?

B: Matthew Whelan, Nathan Carroll, Jared Rivers

HB: Paul Wheatley, Brad Miller, Daniel Bell

Our defence looks 1 tall short, considering Miller should play at CHF.

Carroll will take Thompson, while Rivers will have a huge job on Aaron Edwards. Unfortunetly this means that Rivers can't be a lose man in defence and do his trademark spoils and gutsy marks.

Cam Bruce should take Corey Jones.

I'll also be concerned if Petrie/McIntosh rest in their foward line.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
