Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I did not see Jared have a go at white but yes, white did decide to stand and wait and yes rivs should have given white a mouthful and more, Don't remember seeing any footage, but then at that point I did put my head in my hands and wonder what the bloody hell he was thinking.

I was throwing pillows at the TV at that point, so I missed it as well, but...

JARED FOR CAPTAIN! :D

He had every right to give him a spray. I would have probably punched him, which explains why I don't, and should never, play team sports ;)

No Jaded as a captain it's sometime appropriate to grab a team mate by the throat and threaten to belt the crap out of them if they squib a contest, they need to more scared of the pain you will inflict than what the opposition could do.

If Jared could stay on the park, I reckon he would be a GREAT option as captain. Might also help keep him in Victoria.

If Riv goes home, I will cry like a 5 year old girl in the corner.

He is a pretty introverted guy as far as I know, so maybe the captaincy is out of the question, but certainly a role in the leadership group is the way to go. I've always liked having a designated leader in each section of the ground. Rivers is, without a doubt, the backline general.

And yes, if he goes home I can see quite a few Melbourne supporters checking themselves into a psych ward soon after. We have to make sure this NEVER happens.

Just by the way, Rivers is not from Adelaide, from SA, but not from the city of Adelaide.

Maybe an introverted off field captain is the way to go!?

If he is prepared to lead by example on the field...

I don't know; who else is there, other than Jonothan Brown? *Puts on really hopeful thinking face*

Didn't say a thing, should have though...

But I think White knew it.

Awful stuff, if I was DB I would throw Meesen in for him.

He's 6 foot 5 and afraid of Mooney.

Meeson is afraid of his own shadow.

Meeson is afraid of his own shadow.

i'd still play him. right now jeff white is in career worst form. his handball, his kicking, his decision making, this notion he has if he gets his hand to the ball in ruck contests he has done his job even though most of them go to the opposition. his game is a dogs breakfast right now.

I thought White was alright. He made a few mistakes that 1 being the biggest but he wasn't the only 1. Jones made some terrible errors. Everytime Carroll got near the ball he made an error. Davey was horrible until the last quarter and Robertson was the worst player on the ground.

I am a White fan, but I have previously written a piece called 'The White is Dead'. I saw the incident and my son had to pacify me in case I destroyed the expensive (for me) LCD monitor... I like what White has contributed over his long career. I like him for things other than his toughness. At the moment I don't like him for his clangers, particularly by hand (which I witnessed in person at Casey Fields). The other annoying idiosyncrasy (feel free to read IDIOTsyncrasy) is White's habit of seeing four options when he has possession without taking any of them... the fifth option is usually the one he does not execute cleanly!!!!! Now, White observers will know what I am talking about. He has been doing this for at least 5 seasons. FREE ADVICE FOR MR WHITE... "Always take the first option, take it quickly and half the time it will work out" ... which is a way higher percentage than you are currently rating!

There were 2 incidents that drew some abuse from Rivers. There was one where Mooney (I think it was him) used White to block Rivers because he wasnt looking. It was bloody awful. Rivers turned and gave it to him.

the 2nd incident was when Hawkins took the screamer in the pocket. Rivers was marking his man as the geelong player was lining up while White was byhimself at the top of the square. He should have being on the line just in case the kick was off. The kick was off, Rivers recognised that fact early and ran back hard but couldnt get into the contest. White never moved. Rivers turned and screamed and pointed at the goal line.

White also didnt contest a Mooney mark when he had best position. But that was at the other end of the ground so I didnt see how Rivers reacted. I know how I did however. Effin ballistic.......

there was another time where white actually ran back with the flight of the ball and tried to take a speccy over a geelong/melbourne 1 on 1 contest (in the geelong forward line). he dropped the mark, and i believe geelong mopped up and kicked a goal. if you are in the back line, you have two options. mark or punch, and you only mark it when you are 100% of it.

you forgot the bit about him taking rivers out during that marking contest.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
