  1. The club appears to still be hemorrhaging and stalling. I kinda hope this would have all stopped by now and we can concentrate on moving forward.
  2. HIGH-profile sports administrator Paul McNamee has been dumped as chief executive of Melbourne after only four months in the job. McNamee said today he was disappointed that the new board, headed by former Demons champion Jim Stynes, had decided he was not the right man to run the AFL's oldest club. http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl...6-19742,00.html
  3. Well done guys. Turned up there with the misses for a a couple of beers and was great to see everyone enjoying themselves. Watching the 2002 highlights on the big screen made me realise, just how far we should have gone that year. With players like, Scotty Thompson, Jolly, Bizzell, Peter Vardy, Powell, TJ, Chells, Schwarter plus plus etc etc all on fire., we really underachieved that year. Do yourself a favour and go get a copy of that years hightlights....and you will agree. BB
  4. We need to do everything and anything possible to secure him at the end of the year!!!
  5. And one of them, without mentioning names is as soft as marshmellow...
  6. Was good, but my only criticism is that the club padded out ther affair with alot of players who had very short careers and certainly not "legend" or "hero" status.
  7. "Malthouse took aim at the Dees, who were inspired by Saturday's 150th anniversary dinner. He said he was bemused that Melbourne had been able to play with such intensity yesterday, but rarely in most games this year." - MALTHOUSE QUESTIONS DEMON EFFORT Mick Malthouse is a tool of a bloke suffering from small man syndrome in a very big way. Sorry but the Queens Birthday clash is here to stay!!!
  8. To the Melbourne Footy Club, the greatest footy club in the world, Happy Birthday and congratulations on reaching 150 years old today. It certainly has been a rollercoaster ride, especially for me over the last 40 years and I thankyou for all the good exciting times I have experienced and as hard and frustrating as it has been, I have been there there too to support you during our dark periods as well... Enjoy the day today, and all I wish for from today's game is to see some genuine passion, pride in the jumper and some good old fahioned hardness. Go Dee's.... See you all at Fed Square later this morning
  9. AFL CEO Andrew Demetriou says Melbourne could lose the blockbuster Queen's Birthday match if it draws a crowd of less than 60,000. http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl...4-19742,00.html Gotta love pricks like this guy who sinks the boots in when you are down!
  10. I'll be there from 10.00am onwards and might even try to sneak a couple of bevvies in over at Y&J's before the procession to the MCG!
  11. Agreed, that is an asbsolute blooody joke. The guy was awesome and had so much raw talent. For me he was one of the best full forwards on the park for the Dees during that time.
  12. Bode and C Johnson very very lucky! No Holland or Juice... Oh dear.
  13. Caro is on the money with this story. This is going ot happen I can tell you. Paul has down a great job in very trying circumstances but its time for a change and a fresh new face. Go Demons
  14. For mine, Out: White, Neitz, Yze, Jamar, Bartram, McDonald, Bruce, Miller, Silvia and probably Holland, even though I would like him to stick around for another year.
  15. Why in the bloody hell, would the footy club allow Mathew Bate to come back after a pain killing injection, with what appears to be a serious wrist injury??? It wasnt a bloody grand final and we had no chance of winning at this time of the game.... We have already lost Robbo for the year if not for the last time with a career threatening injury, and if by doing this, it has made Baters, injury worse, I will rip up my bloody membership!!!
  16. Yes its touch and go with that type of injury.
  17. I cannot believe that after last weeks effort, the Melbourne Football Club would put in such an insipid, pathetic account of themselves. At half time, we had 12 players who had not laid one tackle!!! After last week, that statistic is damming. We have no leadership, we have players like Jeff White going through the motions and playing with no bloody guts or passion, we are too slow in moving the ball and our forward line offered nothing. The jury is out as far as I'm concerned as too whether Dean Baily is the man for the job, with the player list we have. The players have little faith in his game plan - That is bleeding obvious!!! SHOW SOME BLOODY FIGHT AND SHOW SOMETHING MELBOURNE
  18. Our away jumper is an absolute joke. Our tradtional jumper in no way shape or form would clash with St Kilda's. Pull your head in Melbourne & the AFL.
  19. DONT BOTHER WITH THIS AS ITS FROM A HAWTHORN SUPPORTER, SO ALL THEIR HIGHLIGHTS ONLY.
  20. Totally agree buddy. Alot of you supporters continually bag this guy, but unlike a few current MFC listed players, who will remain nameless, this bloke always gives 110% for the club. Yes he may have his limitations, but his guts and determination cannot be questioned. Give me a bloke like him over a natural talented player who doesnt apply himself or works hard ANYDAY!!! I for one am disappointed to hear that he will be retiring at the end of this year. Like Mir Bizzell, I believe it is one year too premature.
  21. "She likens it to cyber bullying at schools, where there are alarming cases of bullying bringing on forms of depression and even attempted suicide".... OH PLEASE, THE WORLD IS REALLY BECOMING A PATHETIC SENSITIVE LITTLE PLACE NOW ISNT IT???
  22. Woul dlove to see it! Also I noticed that C7 recorded Neita's pre game address, that would be gold to get!!!
