Lynden Dunn

has anyone else been as impressed with Lynden Dunn as I have? he doesn't get the wraps like some of our other young players, for example Bate, Jones, Newton etc... however I think this kid could be the best of the lot... was thrown in the deep end when we had injuries and presented well as a half forward...

was given limited opportunities this year, but i believe he grabbed every last little bit of opportunity given to him... played in the middle in a tagging role... not only did he nullify his opponent, but hurt them the other way... also showed the ability to kick goals in the midfield...

Bailey keeps talking of not limiting the expecations we have on our players, always looking for improvement... he is the one player who has made the most out of all the opportunities given to him, and i can't wait to see what he can do under Bailey...

I actually like him as a forward. He seems to have an excellent sense of where the goals are, almost like a tall forward pocket. Perhaps if he can put on a bit more weight he can play as a HF flanker, and then get amongst it in the middle at secondary ball-ups, as well as giving us another option around the forward line, and some goal-kicking ability from stoppages inside 50. I think he could well be a good player, but he's far from made it yet. It will be interesting to see how Bailey employs him.

Works with that charity that helps kids get back on track after they get into trouble.

Name escapes me at the moment, but he's got a footy brain, obviously a footy player and not an athlete. Good to see.

A Cam Bruce who can kick would be nice, but remember what Cam started out as, a tagger, HFF, HBF. In other words he was all over the place, so don't get frustrated when Dunn plays some role that you may think doesn't suit him.

I want him to play a Paul Chapman type role. Not the same build but a flanker that can kick goals and also find some footy in the middle.

Plenty of Love for Dunny. He is a nice sort and works hard on his footy. His combination of skill and dedication should see him develop and have a great career with the demons. I am not expecting the "next brownlow" tag for dunny, but given time he will require the oppositions best tagger/defender to stop his influence on the game.

We should see him hit his straps in 2 seasons. 08 will be a huge step in the right direction for Dunny.

i have no idea what kind of person he is but the football side of him im not overly impressed. Struggled as a key forward role. is not quick enough nor smart enough for a attacking midfielder. was tried as a tagging midfielder, which is usually a last resort for some players. gave away to many free kicks. Struggled at sandy in the finals and failed to step up,

however he is still young, another preseason, importantly a hair cut! and i think in the future he could be a adam hunter type of player, a third forward or third tall down back.

harsh curtis, very harsh. i think he looks to be a kid with great potential to do a lot of things. he is a smart footballer. we must remember he isnt a CHF, he isnt a short quick mid. he could bulk up and maybe be a KPB, a negating run with player, or a HFF. he has the potential to be lots of things, i look forward to watching his development.

I think this kid has the POTENTIAL to turn a game on its head... he is agressive towards the ball and his first 5 steps when he gets the ball seem to be faster then alot of them running round (could be juts his hair, tats why he looks soo fast)

But potential is the biggest killer for our Dee's.. we have soo many players that have huge potential and some of them never get there. Hopefully Sir Bailey can get some of these kids, like Dunny, to there full game. He's going to be good.

Very smart player, great mobility and decent height (Hopefully he can put on more weight and not be a Fergy who I swear was allergic to the gym) and also has good skills.

Could play anywhere, will end up being a similar player to Embley from WCE IMO, and I'd be stoked if he's just as good.

He spent the mid-late season in limbo -- somewhere in between KPP, flanker and midfielder.

I'm just looking forward to seeing how he is going to be used more than anything. He's one of the biggest question marks on our list in terms of where his future is.

I'm not sure if we're all talking about the same player, Dunn was reasonable this year, but I just don't see the star quality that everyone has been raving about. He's not a KPP, his overhead marking is not up to scratch, especially for someone his size. He gets most of his goals playing as a goal sneak and was played as a tagger later in the year that got the best out of him. His two best game both against Carlton who were well and truly in tanking mode, hardly something to be proud of.

He's shown a bit of potential but let's not build him into something he's not and then exect too much of him in the future.

i thought his best game was against the doggies later in the season... played well in the middle, kicked a couple of goals...

Stats wise his two best games were against Carlton, 18 & 22 touches. Against the doggies he got 12 that day.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
